His injury record isn't great, he'd be incredibly expensive and with Ndidi re-signing it wouldn't do the balance of the squad any good.

Absolutely love the guy and one of the best players to ever wear our shirt but it’s a no from me.

If it was on a free then I’d maybe consider it for a one or two year deal but £20m for a majorly injury prone 33 year old on massive wages, could be a total disaster

Posted this on Reddit, but also putting it here:

I’m jealous. He proved he’s still got it at the euros. Even if you have to manage his time so you only get 20 matches from him a season, you’ll probably win 10-13 of those just because of Kante. I’ve seen the effect this man can have on teams and I’d argue it’s even more pronounced in “weaker” teams. Wonder what the all-in price is though as his wages will be insane.

It would be a crazy signing for us to make, but I feel like he'd guarantee survival by himself! He is that good. N’golo is an elite ball winner. He averaged something like 5 tackles and 10 interceptions a game for us, starting so many transition attacks. In the Premier League especially, this will both stop and create goals through breaking up phases of play.

Would he want to come back though? Been there, done that.

He didn't want to come the last time and he ended up with a PL winners medal.

Is he going to want to come for a relegation battle now?

I highly doubt it.

Just too much on one player for us to justify it.. his wages alone would  take up the allocation for 3-4 first team players..

He’s on £21.5m per year in Saudi. He’ll

earn far more as well with them due to the tax laws.

Surely West Ham aren’t paying that!

Jokingly said bring him back. The time has passed for him - I think his Euros performances got pretty overrated personally. He was great against Austria then did very little in the remainder but everyone just went off that game.
