They win this, then just relegate us now.

Jon Rudkin is currently on holiday in the Bahamas ****.

I'm also curious to know how this is known, but if true it's more than enough reason to say don't come back, no DOF in the bottom 6 should have a holiday in January.

How do you know?

He might as well be the ****ing useless ****. Should be bringing in new signings quickly each week that goes by, another defeat, we need better players quickly. Sadly we know the way this inept useless **** operates, he will wait to the end **** it up or bring in some overpriced shit in a panick.

One thing they have done well is take the lead more often. They haven't held on to as many leads as they would have liked, but it allows you to defend deep and counter.

I watched the 3 minute highlights of yesterday and thought how different could that game have been yesterday, if Mavididi gets a respectable shot on target with the chance before there goal. I'd say Bilal is probably more aware when Coady heads it back for Barkley's goal if we are leading 1-0 rather it just being

0-0.

Delap was a class signing. Szmodics a sensible one. Then they’ve just got tons of pace and willing runners. Is their squad technically better than ours? Probably not. But it’s got a real balance with a manager who has a set way of playing.

Ipswich also just look like they want to stay up. You’d be proud watching this. I’m not proud watching us.

plus theyve gone to a back 5 with wing backs, more solid defensively

tho if Davis/Johnson or Delap got injured imo that formation doesnt work as well

I just cant shake the feeling that basically since Puel left, we've not had a cohesive team building approach to recruitment, instead just picking up players based on backroom deals with agents or fishing in the bargain bin from low end PL clubs.

We need a total reform of leadership, but that feels totally fanciful.

The thing about the PL these days is that it’s about systems. Individual brilliance really isn’t much of a thing. Ipswich have a system and they sign players to fit into that system. Brighton, Brentford, even Forest have all done that effectively.

Funnily enough we had a system last season that was effective for the most part. The clear and obvious solution to Maresca was to find a coach (regardless of their past success) that uses a very similar system, and then signings could be made which fit into that system. For us however, a lack of vision post Maresca have left us screwed because none of our signings are system players, they’re players who can do individual things very well but not much else. That doesn’t work in 2024/25. The club is set up like it’s competing in the championship in 2004/05.

did i say that? no

but you have to admit some of the decisions that have gone Ipswich way the last 2 games are a little iffy

tho that shows the state of officials in this country

Officials are shit period.

I would say it’s undeniable that Ipswich are a better ‘team’ than us. Let’s not confuse the better team with one with a couple more individual names on paper who should be better than they are. They are organised and know what they want to do. We lurch from one error to another so we deserve our position really. On paper we should be much better but we are so dysfunctional.

Teams are going to have good runs when we have bad runs. Especially when we play the bigger teams.

There will be a point where we have more of a chance of getting results and the others will struggle. That’s when we need to switch on. The next two for example.

we were 6 points clear at this time in 22/23. It’s a relegation fight - no one goes on prolonged good runs.

It hinges on January. But the problem is the root of our problems are at board level, what’s happening on the pitch is just a reflection of this piss poor leadership.

Unless Top changes things around him nothing will change, we will just continue to regress.

I agreed it’s why Ipswich will stay up, they are all on board, they’ve nothing to prove and nothing to lose, they go for it every game and leave nothing out there, eventually their effort with enable them to grind out results.

We’ve not got any of those qualities, put that with zero confidence, zero leadership, and a put a manager in place with no staff….. what do they expect? It won’t surprise me if we finish bottom, we are just a disgrace of a club, and it’s entirely self inflicted.

Top, sort it out or just **** off.

I think its likely all 3 promoted sides drop, but they are by far the most likely to stay up, just because they have a better all round direction and feel, we are sleep walking again like we have for a while.

My only hope it RVN will at least do what Enzo did and call them all out above him for not being serious. We can argue cooper vs rvn but cooper was a yes man who was just lucky to have a job, RVN won't stand for the nonsense I think and that might be the most important thing that happens regardless of league position

Oh 100% Top’s the bitch of the party and horrible to have him here but if we can get lucky in the transfer market, I can’t give up yet.

Puel certainly wasn’t the brains behind the stats based recruitment that led to huge success, that was his predecessors. Yes since Puel we then allowed managers to go away from that (Remember diabatè) and it’s generally been shite. And that’s why it is the on hierarchy, they became complacent and as good staff left, incompetent and unaccountable.

Isn’t just not where we now are? This weekend is just a reflection of how we are being run as a club. We’re relying on a broken system to get us back on track, and that very same system is what derailed us…. Why are the people who derailed us, having to now review why it happened? In any other business, they would be sacked….. is Top runs KP like this, then they will go under quicker than it was established.

We are going down because of everything that’s gone on in that board room. A string of shocking decision.

Is there a link to Enzo calling out the board?

Until we sort out defence, we won’t be able to fight like Ipswich are doing. We tried yesterday, and for most part we were ok, but individual errors are costing us. I think we will be relegated, but we need a long term plan, with the right people in place to execute that plan and a bit of patience from the fans, too!

Top needs to sack the current hierarchy and employ people who understand the football industry, from youth development, scouting and player development. What the like of Brighton, Fulham, Bournemouth and Ipswich and Brentford are achieving, hasn’t happened overnight, it’s a long term project, with the right people in place to execute the plan. There is no feel good factor about Leicester, we need to get that back in the short term, if we are going to get anything from this season!
