What a cute way of thinking 🥰

It's a result of the product created by the Premier League, Sky and a number of the clubs. Even if the title race and battle for relegation had a bit more about them, you would still be watching a heavily commercialised product with very little emotion in the stands and on the pitch, interrupted every 10-15 mins by a VAR check, while commentators and pundits alike turn all topics of conversation back to the big 6.

What a cute way of thinking 🥰

Complete oversaturation of football, boring modern possession based style yielding less shots on target year after year, people cutting back on subscriptions due to the cost, Man Utd being shit, plus the fact that 7/8 teams in the league are just objectively small football clubs that neutrals don't want to watch.

To be fair, it looks about right to me.

An uncompetitive league with no jeopardy, as a result of the PSR nonsense creating such imbalance has put people off watching as surprise surprise, people watch English football for the culture of the competitiveness and ups and downs. Almost like it’s not just about the big teams and big name players.

And the point about multiple to packages causing illegal streaming also very fair.

So many different kick off times
VAR
Ability to watch online
Quick and easy access highlights
Cost

Must all play a part too .

You missed out VAR a couple more times.

Also, the dilution of atmospheres at the grounds under the guise of increased tourism and improving the atmosphere for families has sanitised the experience of following football.

The sheer cost will have people turning off, you see adverts to get sky for £16pm but then when you add channels you want & sports, ooh & you have to have a different HD package for sports not the general Tv with HD it jumps up by £40pm, add in a TNT subscription anther £30 and cinema you could be paying anywhere between £100-180+pm, the latter end of that being out of contract, but still if your not confident in haggling then it’s just to much, also when you factor in BB, other streaming subs etc

Picking sky tv contract / channels is like picking an energy contract, there are to many and most our intertwined in that if you drop x you lose y etc

Trent smashing out fluent Spanish in his real unveiling is one of the more badass things I’ve seen recently. Scousers are going to be rattled.

Been having lessons for ages then!

As much as they tried, a race to finish fifth is not interesting in most seasons, let alone the main issue.

Not surprised the interest has waned.

It'll be interesting how he does there. He has done wonders at Brentford, but it's his club and it just fits. Let see how it goes spurs.

One thing is for sure, he'll be boring compared to brash Aussie Ange

He's rubbing there noses in it. I suppose they're going to go back to booing him now.

Kieran McKenna and Scott Parker has been linked to replace Frank .

Brentford fans might hope for someone more proven at PL level ?

McKenna is still a quality manager and would do well under that setup I think.

Probably true if given the time but you know the media anyway will look to his Ipswich record in the league even though that was always going to be very tough.

Sad for him and Brentford. Good luck to him, but I'm pretty sure this is going to end in tears.

He's not realistically going to get offered a better job until he proves himself with a team like Spurs. You can argue the conditions are perfect for him. He should be able to improve on 17th and he'll get some European football experience too.

Will he bring along some Brentford players too?
