Would people say Josh Cullen, Ilya Gruev and Hamza Choudhury are all comfortably better than Skipp?

They’re the 3 players who play the same role as he does in the top 3 teams in the Championship this season. He’ll be fine.

What you are saying implies that you think Skipp is better than those two. I wonder when people realise that Skipp is dogmuck, whether he cost £25mil or £5mil.

I really don't think he's any better as a 25 year old than Armstrong is at 33 and im not Armstrong's biggest fan either.

At least Armstrong's had a respectable career, Skipp on the other hand is so bad that he has people bringing up that one championship season with Norwich 5 years ago to defend his ability.

Skipp will be one of the better players on the Champ next season. It was a terrible purchase, at a terrible price, but in that division he will be one of the better players.

The bloke will have an absolute cigar on in the championship next year. He’s never worth the fee we paid but that’s not his fault. Think people should be directing the agenda towards the board in his case and not the player.

Hopefully he gets a bit more stuck in defensively next season

4 tackles won and 9 interceptions

He has actually committed more fouls than that combined - 17

He isn’t that good a passer, not much of a dribbler, and has shown very little defensively

As someone else posted, Skipp (the whole team look well uncooked fitness wise).

I’d like to see how a fit Skipp looks. He does have an interesting running technique but before we signed him, I thought he was a robust CM that can get around the pitch.

One of the many internal investigations needs to be our players fitness levels.

We looked unfit under Cooper too, so safe to say an underlying issue.

Gonna say it, think he will be a good player in the championship, he's only 24. As everyone knows this game is all about confidence, its like alot of our players regardless of their abilities/lack of your a much much better player with confidence.

I think he was a solid and unspectacular signing in an area where we were relatively well stacked unless we were moving someone on, which at the time we didn’t.

The biggest issue is the financial aspect of the deal, which others have rightly said is far from his fault, given what we spent, I am left scratching my head somewhat as to why he has been left out in the cold so often, especially when you see Soumare lumbering around, it does make you wonder if there has been something underlying this season.

As a few have alluded to in this thread we have looked very under prepared this season, our pre season was appalling and looks like it set the tone for what has been a truly horrifying season.

personally I would be happy to see Wilf, Winks and Soumare move on and Skipp potentially be the one to offer experience alongside a lot more youthful and energetic midfield, he has always seemed to be a good professional, so again makes you wonder what the hell has been going on this season.

I’d play him for the rest of the season,

He’ll be one of the top CM’s in the Championship next season, which says a lot about to ever widening void between the leagues.

He’s not been as horrific as people have made out when he’s played, however the bars been incredibly low!

But apart from that he's great!

I wouldn’t have been happy with the signing at half the price. Cooper knew him when Oliver was 17 though and we needed a ‘good lad’ to keep us in the premier league.

Has to start today over one of the Plonkers in the double pivot.

With Soumare wanting out and being subbed at half time last week you’d like to think we’ll focus on who will be here next season. Personally I’d like us to use today as a chance to have a good look at Braybrooke but I think it’ll more likely be Skipp for 70 or so minutes then Braybrooke or Cartwright for 20.

He is what he is. He’ll be decent next year I have not doubt, it was just always ridiculous that he was our marquee signing.

Why we try to deal with Levy at all is the real question as you can almost guarantee any deal will be a bad one
