Not the greatest offensively but a great player at keeping the ball and drawing free kicks to relieve pressure Which is why he shouldn't start. Bring him on when we have a lead to protect. Or when playing a team far superior to us.
Sunbury Fox Posted 22 September 2024 Posted 22 September 2024 (edited) On the ball I didn’t think he was bad yesterday but he was so far tucked inside that it gave Young a free pass for the whole game, which is 100% on Cooper. In games like yesterday’s , I think he might be more useful as a central striker with 2 flyers either side of him, as he can hold up and lay off the ball effectively. He obviously won’t score many goals, though. Edited 22 September 2024 by Sunbury Fox
CosbehFox Posted 29 September 2024 Posted 29 September 2024 He’s past it. That touch when he was half put through proved it. Palace must be absolutely laughing 2
The Doctor Posted 29 September 2024 Posted 29 September 2024 Can't wait to see this bloke taking up the bertrand role the moment we get in an actual manager.
SK3Blue Posted 29 September 2024 Posted 29 September 2024 First we made the Palace lot chuckle with 7m for Ayew then we send them into hysterics by taking their other non goslscoring striker, couldn’t make it up, especially when we already have Daka. Desperate panic signings that highlight the clubs lack of any Plan A let alone a Plan B 2
James_lcfc Posted 29 September 2024 Posted 29 September 2024 One of the few times we got into a good position yesterday and his first touch was like a pass

That’ll be Reid, the other heads in the sand signing on a 3 year contract. It bothers me there are employees at the club supporting the manager with these horrible requests for past it experience, Cooper and whoever they are must go 7
oz was my hero Posted 29 September 2024 Posted 29 September 2024 Maybe just me but I really can't see why we blew money on him. I would rather have seen sharky given an extra year. No transfer fee and that guy would give his all for the badge. Seen nothing yet from ayew to convince me he's an upgrade. 4

For 5m and his wage packet, there are at a guess 150 similar level l, and available players throughout the EFL and Europe's second tier leagues that could and would fulfil a similar role. And be aged 23-28.. It was as unimaginative signing as possible to be. 2
Collymore Posted 5 October 2024 Posted 5 October 2024 I really like him in the side. He drops deep, is good on the ball although not spectacular. I just feel his physicality is a proper weapon but he's quite creative at the same time. I can see why Cooper picks him in the side even against inferior opposition. 2
whoareyaaa Posted 5 October 2024 Posted 5 October 2024 Rather have Bilal in there. Should be coming off the bench not starting 1
The Horse's Mouth Posted 5 October 2024 Posted 5 October 2024 He’s not put a foot wrong, do agree he should be more of an option to see a game out though.
JimJams Posted 5 October 2024 Posted 5 October 2024 He's a scapegoat and the ire of many before a ball is even kicked. Though I agree with @whoareyaaa that he's probably a better bet as a bencher to bring on in situations where you're struggling to get out. He's been fine so far today but people just want to shit on someone. I'd still prefer to see Fats with Mav and Buo all at once, but Cooper won't start that.
sm1 Posted 5 October 2024 Posted 5 October 2024 There's definitely one thing he's learnt from playing with Zaha, that's how to win a free kick.

VLC86 Posted 5 October 2024 Posted 5 October 2024 Proper battling performance today, which is what we needed.
Levi Port Posted 5 October 2024 Posted 5 October 2024 Love him, everything we lacked when we were relegated. Was so so good today

He looks after the ball well and can win a free-kick or 3. Sometimes he wins them when actually trying to stay on his feet and play might be more beneficial to us though! - We aren’t particularly good at attacking set pieces! He doesn’t press well though. He goes through the motions at times, as if his closing down is blocked by a lorry load of spilt syrup.

Was doing my head in second half how he was just trotting around, midfield was getting overrun and somehow he nearly managed to play the whole game. 2

Tommy G Posted 5 October 2024 Posted 5 October 2024 Brilliant today - he’s just got the know how. 8/10 2
