Massively kills our attacking momentum & a striker with more intelligence in their movement gets 1-2 today just by being in the right place for JJ/BDR and wingers crosses/cutbacks - we got into so many good areas! 😳😳😳
filbertway Posted 17 January Posted 17 January The way he dribbled the ball out for a throw earlier....majestic 2

He's extremely limited and it's embarrassing that anyone at LCFC thought he was the answer to anything, but there are about 7 or 8 players on that pitch today - including the waste of space who came on for him - who I'd lay the blame on for throwing the game away before him. Ayew was certainly one of our many problems yesterday. Even when we looked good in the first half, that was actually almost derailed by Ayew’s lack of ability to either keep up with the play or be in a position that would help any build up. I’ve been critical of Reid’s place (more him being a 10), but I’d genuinely rather see him as a false 9 than Ayew. 1
MC Prussian Posted 18 January Posted 18 January Ayew's chosen the wrong sport to earn a living. With the amount of time he spends on the ground each game, it's not too late for him to switch to wrestling. 1

Certainly not before the oppos have all 11 eleven of theirs behind the ball and in position. Dreadful! Aged well

Absolutely no idea why he was such a fans favourite at Crystal Palace. Still hate him for having the audacity of taking the number 9 shirt this season. 2

Is he an all round striker no. Is he limited yes. He has delivered what was said on the tin by and large. If he has on a high salary he will not be here after the summer. He does what he does and to expect more is not realistic. 1

He was part of the problem, it just was not as visible as the defensive frailties in the 2nd half. We had the freedom of the pitch for the entire 1st half and Reid was found 3-4 times and wasted 3 glorious crosses and cut backs. However, there were also several other crosses that were cleared because Ayew had made the wrong decision in his movement, all within the 6-12 yard box that had he got 1 or 2 of the multiple ones right then we are 2-3 nil up and the game is a completely different one in the 2nd half. We so badly need a proper striker it's painful. Likewise we need full backs that can support attack and defend, we are the pits right now. 8 1

If we arent getting a point deduction or a small one, I'd invest in playing Balde the rest of the season. If we can't by a LB get Kristiansen fit anf play him. Ricardo is done, great servant but needs to move on. Edited 18 January by coolhandfox
JimJams Posted 18 January Posted 18 January The funny (or nauseating) thing about worrying that he'll be given an extension is the possibly misplaced belief that he won't get a better offer than us. Can imagine he gets offered an easy stint in Saudi offered for starters. Which would kind of be a blessing whilst also a kick in the bollocks. 1
OntarioFox Posted 18 January Posted 18 January I just realised we're six months from a dream scenario of Ayew and Daka both pissing off for good, and us being forced to find someone else or give Evans a chance. You just know the morons in the boardroom are going to offer one or both of them an extension rather than do some actual f***ing legwork to find a new player, though. 2

The amount of times our crosses were crying out for a poacher to finish yesterday was insane. Like you say, if a proper #9 is playing, he's on the end of at least 1 or 2. His decision making and attitude are an absolute joke. If he was scoring frequently he'd have lots more leeway. But he's just being a hindrance to the team now. 4

Mike Oxlong Posted 18 January Posted 18 January (edited) Is he the sort of player that I should be shelling out £30-£40 a game to watch ? Absolutely not but you could say that about pretty much all of our squad Edited 18 January by Mike Oxlong 3

Leicesterpool Posted 19 January Posted 19 January Its a pity with Ayew we couldn't let him go this window for free, to just get his wages off our list and free up this window.

Popular Post Stadt Posted 19 January Popular Post Posted 19 January (edited) Highlighted games are where Daka has started, filtered by highest xG to lowest. He has his many faults but we play and look more like a football team with him in the side, rather than 10 players + Jordan Ayew playing for himself. Daka playing up front means there is an out ball, the opposition CBs are occupied and we can break. Ayew spent the second half almost trying to tackle Mavididi every time he broke forwards. P.s one game with > 2 xG versus eleven < 1 xG, get Madri Cifuentes OUT Edited 19 January by Stadt 8
Marshall Cockney Fox Posted 19 January Posted 19 January I swear if we told him he'd lose 5k for every second (above 5 secs) he holds on to the ball he'd be blinding. He can hold the ball up well. But he has no urgency to pass or link up quickly. He's got strengths, but relentlessly undermines them with ponderous / greedy behaviour. Two touches pal or we're hitting your pocket!!
tylesta Posted 19 January Posted 19 January Think it was second half Stephy running down the wing ayew strolls over in to his path bringing a defender with him

Stephy then did a bit of a lazy toe poke backwards (looked frustrated) and we lost possession. Ayew seems to do anything but put the effort into to generate space.
moore_94 Posted 20 January Author Posted 20 January Can't wait until February 3rd after the window has closed and we have signed no one and we announce his new contract That tweet is gonna hit like crack
