em9999 Posted 2 July Posted 2 July Man city wont get top four next season not with Enzo Hopefully they also get the deserved point deduction for being complete cheats

I've accepted Monga is going, do I like it, nope. He could get swallowed up in the system as a club like Man City. Arsenal was his better bet, tbh as they promote youth more often. Im fully aware it's a awful situation and I don't want to lose our best talent. I certainly want to hold on to the rest, but this was always going to happen, I think, even if we were in the championship.

I still think £10m for a 16 year old L1 player, who has potential, and that's all it is at the moment, is a decent price. If he'd made the odd cameo in the Prem like say Max Dowman, I'd accept £10m is quite a low valuation. Would Leicester be willing to pay £10m for an unproven 16 year old from L 1 if they were in the Prem and what would the reaction to that be on here, irrespective of whether or not we had the same resources as Man. City. 4

However in our state 10 million needs to be grabbed, and fortunately he’s not had enough cameo’s here to fall in love with. 1
les-tah Posted 3 July Posted 3 July So lets says we get £10 million - how much can he spent of the pure homegrown profit? does it get absorbed by the years of losses? Or can we only spend X% amount or is it different for homegrown sales?
Popular Post Tommy G Posted 3 July Popular Post Posted 3 July I don't think £10m for an unproven 16yr old is bad business - yes would be great to hold onto him and develop him at LCFC but we're a league one club now FFS. 6

Haywood_6 Posted 3 July Posted 3 July 10 million plus a sell on fee. It's not much but he's 16 and still got everything to prove, we've only seen flashes of what he can do so far
Terraloon Posted 3 July Posted 3 July (edited) A Man City mate of mine who is quite savvy on these matters is suggesting that the initial fee is way below 50% of the £10 million package. Arsenal pulling out isn’t anything to do with them not liking him but the fact that LCFC pushed too hard. The only club prepared to talk about even close to decent numbers is Man City I should also add that the club will struggle to match the agreed wage sum that is in the current agreement and is the basis of the contract . That offer would put him close to the highest, if not the highest earners of players , and still at the club, who signed contracts in the last two years. Finally based on numbers despite age if he remains at the club he will feature in the 26/27 SCMP numbers. Edited 3 July by Terraloon
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 3 July Posted 3 July The buying club and it's fans will always pretend the fee is less than it is and vice versa with the selling club adamant it's more. If some Man City fan is telling you the fee is 5 million quid they're probably talking out of their arse

Monga is a wonderful prospect of course, but we would be carrying him next season and he wont be a match winner in L1 next season. Loans should be to enhance the squad, and developing players should be left to this in our academy. 2

Absolutely. If we had been relegated purely by on the pitch matters but the club was in decent financial health, maybe we’d hold more cards in trying to squeeze a little more. But everyone and Vesty’s dog in football know that we are in a mess still and will need to make these sales. So they hold the cards. 1
richardsfoxes Posted 3 July Posted 3 July Shame but this was always going to be the outcome regardless of what division we we're in, if this is what we have to do to keep the lights on so be it.
Tuna Posted 3 July Posted 3 July Yes, good deal for all concerned now lets please get some signings in. It's literally, been years. 1
Danizen Posted 3 July Posted 3 July Good luck to him. He'll probably be ripping it up for Borussia Dortmund in three years. 1
Rubbersoul Posted 3 July Posted 3 July Good luck to the lad. Whilst he struggled I do think in a much better environment he will thrive 1
HankMarvin Posted 3 July Posted 3 July Be a pleasant surprise to see some new players coming n rather than see **** all every day
