    • Mahrez
      73
    • Fuchs

If you could have one former player in this current side (in their prime). Who would you chose to lead us out of this current mess?

im leaving out Kante as I think he’s always going to be the answer.

Mahrez for me, I can see the arguments for huth; but he wouldn’t be able to sort out the rest of the defence who aren’t proper defenders imo.

just a thought but a prime vardy would’ve scored a lot more this season, and arguably would be much higher up the table. He still gets lots of chances but isn’t scoring them.

Cambiaso was class in how he read and managed games.

Though my choice would have to be Mahrez, simply because he created so much excitement with the Ball and scored quality Goals too.

What a great question and you could argue for all of them!

In the end I chose Cambiasso for a number of reasons.

1. His reading of the game was so good he'd see and snuff out problems before they arose before they even got to the defence.

2. For the same vision reasons, his passing was sublime, he knew where the ball was going even before he'd received it!

3. Our more attack minded players would receive the ball in good forward positions quicker.

4. As we witnessed, his leadership, winning aura, manager on the pitch authority and instruction would all serve to drag inferior players along with him.

5. I'm biased unfortunately. As much as I think the world of NP, for me it was Cambiasso that orchestrated that great escape.

Mahrez is the answer for me.

Huth was exceptional, however he had good players and Kante in front of him.

Hermansen / Kasper not much different.

Not forgetting the amount of defensive work that Vardy used to do in 2015/16

Mahrez undoubtedly the best player on the list but he'd get triple marked out of games.

I think it's either Cambiasso or Huth.

By the end of his time here, Mahrez was probably the only player I’ve seen at Leicester single-handedly winning games or turning a tight game in our favour with individual brilliance at the top level.

He’d be worth an additional 6-8 points between now and the end of the season playing for us in his prime IMO.

Edit.. i initially said Kante, but then saw the last line.

In that case...Mahrez...even if we go down i would get to see one of the most skilled players in our history

It was Mahrez that got us over the line imo, the Palace and Watford goals to win both 1-0 just mattered so much.

It's our defence that needs fixing the most. 2025 football wouldn't be Huth's natural space so I went for Fuchs to fix the fullback issue.

One of THE BEST ever , if not THE BEST player to play for our club , so skilful , can’t help look back over the last 10 seasons at the players we’ve had and the great football we played

Mahrez would make the opposition literally sh*t themselves and the confidence he'd give the rest of the squad would be immense. Man City feeling his loss too.

I'm not convinced Mahrez would have the appetite for doing the dirty work in this poor team.

Remember - we needed Simmo to go nowhere because Mahrez wouldn't track back. He wouldn't get such competent cover in this team and our defense is ****ing woeful.

Great player but Huth edges it because we're so poor defensively.

Huth. Without him we’d have gone down and everything that followed wouldn’t have happened. Morgan was looking out of his depth until he arrived and then he became twice the player that led us to the premier league title.
