Southampton under Martin.

1st - Passes Per Sequence

1st - 10+ Pass Sequences

1st - Build up attacks

And the 2nd slowest in the league for direct speed, funnily enough only Hull City under Rosenior were worse.

The more stats I look at, the more I’m leaning towards Danny Rohl or we look abroad.

I too am leaning towards Danny Rohl but feel it's probably too sensible.

hate this pass for the sake of passing style, ok if you have excellent players but we haven’t and it seems easy to snuff out.Enzo bored the pants off me last year, although it was better than this season obviously

Just something to add on the Danny Rohl front. He has worked with Martyn Glover, so with a bit of luck their relationship was solid and it's a relationship that Danny thinks would work well.

Martin would be a lazy appointment, to the Leicester board he's probably cheap and available. That's it, not if he's right the man or can he stabilize the club.. just like "he'll do".

Unfortunately he was under serious consideration before Enzo even spending time meeting with Top directly before being appointed to Southampton. It's clear our club are infatuated with this style of play, and they have been admiring him for a while. Will that have changed over the past few seasons? you'd like to think so, but let's be real, he's likely a serious contender.

What’s wrong with Martin ? It’s like asking what’s wrong with Vestegaard and Bertrand.

Southampton are about to be relegated after 31 games and well on course to beat the lowest points total record. This is a team with an England international centre back, and goalkeeper who has been in around the England set up. A young player who has been a revelation and other not outstanding but capable players - perhaps they should be down there but the disaster they’ve had, absolutely not.

He, just like our current incumbent failed to prepare them for the season and adapt to the greater challenge. He was naive or stupid, take your pick. Killed the confidence and a good ****ing football club will be on an unwanted list until some other idiot steps up to beat it.

but because he knocks it about and try’s to play it we should admire him ? **** that. It’s the PL and he hasn’t earned a penny of his wage this year. It’s all great having a “philosophy” but preparing your team for the challenge trumps any philosophy every time.

I want us to play the right way. I want us to be admired. Of course I do. But we can’t even sign players of value in January. You earn the right to play in a certain way. We need a proper manager. Signing a team full of winks who will refuse to graft, adapt when the going gets tough should not be our current philosophy.

Well said 👏👏👏

Next Manager must have passion on the touchline not an RVN Dunb Fuch a crossing stubborn passionless posture with a face that looks like a bulldog licking pi55 off a nettle in the  most boring nobody home facial expression a lack of stubbornness to know his team choices are Schitt awful and are not going to work whatever positions you put them in a lack of understanding of when to make logical substitutions and playing a 39 year old Bards for 90min plus even tho he’d play his heart out he’s a quality impact sub, his BullSchitt stubbornness in not playing some of the academy lads that are more than capable of playing better than the fuchers he chooses other than that of the new manager that could take over act like RVN he should be ok ???👌

This obsession with playing like Man City has to stop.

It fails miserably in the Premier League and, even when it works in the Championship, everyone hates it.

The board need to realise that Leicester fans expect aggression, high intensity and resilience as a bare minimum. Until they do, the disconnect will continue.

Besides that, if we truly are ambitious, don’t hire a manager that has failed spectacularly in the Premier League.

100% true. Realised this beyond any doubt under Maresca.

For me, we must part ways with Ruud at the end of the season. We need a complete overhaul in the summer of both squad and at board level.

For our new manager, I would really like to see us go for somebody like Dave Challoner at Stockport. Living close by, I watch Stockport a fair bit and over the past few years Dave has built strong teams that have been successful in winning the National League, League 2 and now they are nailed on for a playoff spot in league 1.

Dave is very no nonsense and what I like about him is that his teams are disciplined, strong, organised and packed with players who give everything.

There rarely seems to be a stand out player. However, that’s because every player is solid in their position.

This type of manager has served Leicester very well in the past and Dave also doesn’t seem to be a Pep wannabe which for me is ideal.

I fear however that someone like Dave wouldn’t be considered by Top as he seems to prefer a big name over someone with proven ability. To quote some words of big Nige. I think Top and his cronies are suffering from delusions of grandeur.

I don’t want another big name ex player. I want someone who can build a strong team and who will mend the damaged connection with the fan base.

My vote goes to Dave Challoner.

Interesting he’s done a good job every where pretty much.

It seems like the appointment of experienced coaches from lower leagues has stopped. Used to happen more than now.

I would like to see someone like Roberto De Zerbi.  He did very well with Brighton in 22-24 seasons, getting Brighton into Europa for their first time.  Furthermore this year, he’s managed Marseille to a second seat in the French Ligue 1.  It seems he might be available soon!

Whoever we get, stop the tippy tappy style. It looks like it may have started to run its course. Even Guardiola has commented that other teams are playing a direct style with some success. It wasn’t designed to be played on the halfway line in the defence own half, when Barca started it under Pep, it was mostly quick passes around the opposing penalty area with an end product. It used to bamboozle the opposition. Now it’s just a bore fest . Don’t want Martin as he insisted that Saints played that way. They seemed to concede a lot of goals from keeper/defenders passing about near the penalty area and getting caught out.

I called it as Russell Martin ages ago, and it just makes perfect sense that our board would look at him.

That said, I thought we'd go for Scott Parker when we went for Enzo, so I could be wrong.

Danny Rohl has to be first choice, but if he goes Southampton instead, i wouldn't mind Liam Manning from Bristol City or Marti Cifuentes from QPR instead.

Personally, I want a flexible coach, where we can dominate the ball next season and then be a counter attacking threat should we get promoted.

imo we just need a flexible/adaptive manager, who knows playing one way wont always work in games(regardless what league we are in)

Im all for Rohl atm, but sadly i think he'll go Southampton, they are probably sounding him out now tbh(to join in the summer) given Juric has left

reports saying Glover rates him highly too, but i doubt that will have any impact, as Top etc are pretty stupid at appointments

Southampton have got rid of Juric today

Means they can have a go at getting in someone like Rohl right now whilst we have to wait around to get rid of the muppet
