Reid was always going to be awful signing. Weird how so many at the time posted that it was a good deal. Look at his transfer thread. Now called a flop. Was always going to be nothing but rubbish.

Happens with every signing mate. Half the board on here just assume the new player will be an improvement..

 

I remember seeing people picking their ideal starting xi including Golding. I posted to a couple of what basis they thought Golding was good enough

It's weird at the time you get hammered for saying we're signing a rubbish player though. I said Skipp was awful and someone told me I was wrong. I guess people want to believe we're improving the squad but, sometimes, it's okay to say this signing is awful.

I actually thought that Skipp was an ok signing as an alternative to Winks, although I thought we'd overpaid by about £15m. I didn't know much about Bilal, but I thought the other signings were incredibly poor from the outset. It's frustrating when people can't see it (Skipp is worse than I expected and I can't argue I called that one), but it's fine to have an opinion either way. 

 

What I found even more weird is that people were still arguing about some of these signings being ok when we were about half way through the season. I'm in no doubt now, and with the benefit of hindsight, that the summer window was one of the most disastrous in our history. How we could invest so much money and arguably end up with a worse squad than we were promoted with is beyond me and I'm still angry about it!
