What a move that could be. One last crack at finishing above Michael Owen in the goalscoring charts, whilst doing so at Liverpool's fiercest rivals. Has Vardy's name written all over it.

Miles better than Thierno Barry (the only striker they have) as well.

Makes sense given then sold their striker then failed to get a replacement. They have Barry as a striker and no backup at all.

Can free agents still be signed? I thought registration windows closed at the same time as the transfer window these days?

Free agents can be signed at any time as long as they were out of contract before the end of the transfer window

For UEFA comps they have to be signed before the squad registration deadline to play in them for the next phase, for PL it's as long as they have space in the 25-man squad (or if they're a U21 player)

He's the kind of player that will always get goals, but i am not sure how he's going to do in the Premier League now.

Defenders are faster and better than ever.

I hope he gets the move, but yeah, I think he's past it personally.

Comments by Mike Dean on Vardys podcast are making headlines. Its a good listen.

Mike Dean loves the sound of his own voice. I'm very confident that this is him saying something outrageous to get his name in the press because he's an attention seeker. Always has been.

I seriously doubt that he could get away with some of the things he said without it being noted in refereeing reports. Could imagine him getting away with it in non-league but theres no way a professional could referee a Premier League game without blowing his whistle for 25 minutes or from sitting in the centre circle for 20 minutes. It's just a blatant fib.

Wonder how many people have been given the job to either prove or disprove his claims

Tbf he'd likely be impact sub. Even if he gets 5 goals that's a result and he'll be on better money than Italy. Plus, he can likely live anywhere North West and plonk himself in an ideal spot for post-retirement media stuff or coaching.

he won’t be a starter. Come off the bench for the last 20 or so… cup games, ect.

He isn't a top tier striker anymore. I would hate him to go to a club like Everton and it not work out for him.

he's got an alarming number of relegations in recent years. would hate for this to be the final nail in his coffin. needs to go to Sao Poalo or China with Ghenzhou FC

Love him obviously but I think his time in the best league in the world has ended.

You might just be Mike Deans number 1 fan.

Other than Mike Dean of course.

Most definitely. Don’t think he’d be much cop at any pro level for much longer tbh. Unsurprising he’s nearly 40.

I don’t think he has much interest in dropping down either if he was to take an another year it’d have to be something top level somewhere and interesting to him.
