If he ever manages Millwall, he’d be known as the Peckham Spring! 🤣

If??

Millwall was literally his first job in English football!!

Where has this new ‘fact’ that we have to sell before we can buy come from?

Some journo.  Might have been Crook on talksport.  So definitely not a fact.

Thanks, so as I thought, some no mark mentions we may have to sell first and suddenly the naysayers and doom mongers on here start quoting it as if it’s a fact.

There a lot of gullible and miserable fans all queuing up to be the harbinger of doom so they can say ‘told you so’ at some point in the future.

compared to GON, Dyche and Wilder this guy is a breath of fresh air but still underwhelming imo.

Supposedly we have shown interest before so is it a case of sinking to the level where this guy is now our best bet?

Isn't selling before you buy normal for relegated clubs?

It was almost certainly the case the last time we went down. We didn't make any moves until after we sold Maddison I think...

A slightly different take on the report, but surely there are players we need to move on (nevermind want to move on) to make room in the squad for new signings and their wages?

I think that's a good summary of our situation.

I'm more interested then excited by this one, but on paper makes the most sense from others

Got to get behind the guy. He has a project on his hands to get this squad in to shape. It won't happen over night. But good luck to him.

i think this gets said before every transfer window for us.

We absolutely should sell before we buy. We have relatively little time to do it in.

This whole process should have been done weeks ago.

I'm sure that it would've been done without the PSR sword hanging over the club.

I think it's pretty clear though that we aren't going to be splashing the cash this summer. We've had 2 relegations In 3 years, still have a massive wage bill and very little value in our squad other than Bilal and Mads. The PL/EFL are always trying to shaft us for PRS and then all the issues with KP, we don't actually know if Top can continue to finance us going forward. We also have 27 players in the first team squad (that includes Golding and Nelson) and that's not including Monga, Evans, Page etc.

Even if we are financially OK, we can't be adding to our bloated squad and wage bill until we trim it a little bit.

If we brought in Pep, someone would say "the same Pep who was in charge when we put 5 past Man City?"

Some people will never be happy or accept our current situation means we're not remotely attractive for top managers

Unless of course they are top managers who haven’t made it to the top yet.

I know little about this guy and I’m willing to see how it pans out and what kind of football we play, but there aren’t many people suggesting he has loads of potential. Again, maybe we just don’t cast our net wide enough or do enough research (not maybe in fact, we definitely don’t).

If we all thought we left no stone unturned to find the best up and coming manager all the replies would be a lot more positive even in the exact same circumstances.

100% we have a big squad with all the emerging youngsters and the returning loan players.

Other then CF we have lots of depth.

Not sure it should have been done weeks ago if you are talking about buying and sell players, must club are doing business all thought this period.

Digressing away from the original point,

His second season, was statistically worse than that his first season with 14 more games and 8 points more gained.

How is that worse?

Correct me if I’m wrong but you’re saying he got 8 more points in his second full season than his first.

We have way too many players in the squad. Of course we have to sell before we can buy, and that’s not even taking finances into account, purely from a logistical point of view.

You want to see the young lads come through? We even need to sell before there’s space for them to come through, before any new faces are recruited.

This is the part people are seeming failing to grasp. Some journalist says we need to sell to buy, and our squad is full…. Sooooooo…… yea, we do!

The process of getting a manager in should have been done. We are weeks behind on everything.
