I'm still amazed (and delighted) that this has gone through.

I keep expecting to read that Wrexham are sending him back

They probably wish they'd kept the gift receipt.

Good signing at the time post-relegation, and was obviously part of the squad which won the league in 23/24, but that long-term injury really hampered Coady's time at the club. Also expected better from his performances when he did come into the side. Glad he's moving on given his apparent wages and keenness to leave the club.

£8m for a centre back that had come off the back of a terrible time at Everton and ended up barely getting a kick due to not being better than our existing options?

Rudkin is that you? :D

Yeah in fairness, the fee was talked about as being too high at the time, and we've obviously now made a loss on him as well.

Just heard Coady’s post transfer interview on the Football Cliches podcast. So relieved we don’t have to listen to this bloke’s tedious banalities any more.

Would have been annoying enough if he’d been any good but hearing him rattle on about giving everything and standards and ambition while having the turning circle of a cruiseliner really took the p**s.

I could never understand the excitement on here and in the media when we signed him.

So glad he's out of Leicester, talks a lot of waffle and can't play

If he was half as good a player as he is at talking, he'd be better than Franco Baresi ever was!

Alas, he's just a gobshite.

Comes across as one of those types that just just says anything good to be liked.

Which is how he conned his way into the team under successive managers* (*term used loosely)..

Wrexham have got a lot right in the last few seasons.   Then they signed Ward and Coady.   Ward is a confidence crisis waiting to turn to jelly;  it's hard to see him playing many games before being binned.  Coady might be okay as championship defender but the evidence is he won't excel.

I find Wrexham signing the two of them strange.   It is hard to see them proving me.wrong

I find it even stranger that they’re playing Ward ahead of Okonkwo.

Surely it can't be long before Okonkwo is back as their first choice.

The fact that we could offload all of these to Wrexham and I wouldnt expect Wrexham to make a promotion push makes me think we're going to struggle this season and that our fans actually still overrate these players by giving them 'clean sheets' and expecting them to come good.

I really don't care about this Muppet. He's gone to his dream club with social media and documentaries FC

Close thread.

Like TJB Fox he lives in my head rent free. Want him to fail so badly, that's how mature I am.
