Well that was a hard watch and we have Stolarczyk to thank for that result.

Thought Stolarczyk & Choudhury were by far our best players and Winks did well when he came on.

Fatawu & Monga completely out of the game bar the one thing he did good all game which was thankfully all that was needed from him today.

Thomas an absolute liability.

Key thing I took away was our complete lack of physicality.  Lost just about every 50/50 and most were brushed off the ball far to easily. All physical teams in this league so that needs improvement.

Anyway, 3 points even if it was daylight robbery.

You need to have more to your game than attacking with long balls and early crosses in this League and that showed today for Charlton.

We showed better quality infront of goal and therefore got the win. We also defended well for 90% of the time but that was probably because we knew exactly what they were going to do.

I thought their managers post match interview was embarrassing. The disallowed goal was a clear foul - they tackled Okoli to the ground so he couldn't win that header in his zone which was a pre planned move

Sure, ideally a striker who gets 20+, but we aren't landing another Vardy any time soon, we need to spread the load.

Some of the should come from a KDH type along with the wingers.

Doesnt have to be 20 no but we need a striker who can actually provide a goal threat. And hold up/ link up play so the ball doesnt keep coming back at us. We have nothing atm

Players don't look fit enough for me, given that they are only 3 games into the season.

Charlton players showed a lot more pace and were the first to a lot of loose balls.

charlton have that winning mentality  and confidence they’ve brought into this season .. and carried it on.. we’ve brought negativity, off the field issues and lack of confidence…   I can’t help but feel if we had confidence and some positivity into our team then it would be as good as a couple of new signings…

We had 2 shots on target in 100 minutes of football lollol

I wouldn't even say our goal was 'quality in front of goal' it was just a piece of individual brilliance.

We were honking in front of goal, created absolutely nothing.

Understand. Don`t think Daka can do it, he is just a bit naff. Hoped Ayew could do the sticky ball and lay if off, but not convinced he can when he has more than one around him. (I like Ayew)

But yes, would be great to have a focal point up top who can feed others and bag a decent number

that's a really good win IMO, they will be tough to beat down there all season.

Stolarczyk clearly man of the match, absolutely brilliant game, Hamza had a really good game if he ends up being Riccy's back up this season with JJ sold he will be more than adequate.

I though both Skipp and Soumare were solid enough and Winks didn't seem to be sulking when he came on really energetic cameo especially late on to see the game out. Monga and Page again were good but nothing spectacular and certainly didn't look out of place in the team.

What a goal from Abdul not his best game but never loses confidence, needs to be stronger though in our half his last act nearly lead to an equaliser. Ayew's general play was good and he was over protecting Monga when he was getting some of the rough stuff which was good to see. Daka when he came on had some good hold up play his only chance on goals was a good block but the pass probably should have gone beyond him to the back post where Silko was in more space

Massive three points for City here. Far from our best but they put up & did the hard work & got rewarded for it. Normally. I'm a bit of a tactics tragic, but right now that doesn't matter. Winning does.

I'm concerned that we don't look coherent yet. The players seem unsure in what they are doing & not quite getting their execution right. But it's important to bear in mind that this is probably the worst team we will put out all season (hopefully). But Friday night will be a struggle.

If we can get two or three wantaway players sold & adequately replaced, then we can really build some momentum as the season progresses, & develop some winning mentality as we go.

Now.. I'm off for a stress wank...

I think Ayew definitely works better in the hole behind the striker but my problem with him is that he needs the ref to protect him. Last week is a great example, the ref wasn't buying his falling over when the defender leaned in and it renders him useless.

Ayew gets a lot of stick, but works hard. Tends to hold on too long though and loses possession too often.

Was not getting a lot of support from the referee today either!

That I 100% agree with. If his one trick does not work, take him off.

Tough scrappy game. Think they will have a decent home record on that showing as they were quite unlucky today. 3 points though which is all that counts. Brilliant goal from Fatawu and fine performance from Jakub. We desperately need new players. Get that Millwall striker in quick

Is any of that stick wrong? You can work as hard as you want but if the output is shit and impacts the team then what is the point.  There was never a reason to sign Ayew..  Him and Skipp are Coopers continual stench.  The fact that managers still pick them says more about the managers we keep choosing.

Enzo drilled simple tasks and positioning into players and moved them around, within a few preseason games we saw what they were trying to do.  A striker who drops deep, turns his back to goal and falls over isn't great.

Would have liked to of seen Alves come on second half.

Surely, at this stage, getting the three points overrides that?

Monga hardly involved, anything we played forward was down Fatawu’s side. Page struggled

As long as they are doubling up on his side as a priority, we should be able to find fats 1v1 with some crisp passing
