Yeah he's got a bit of needle about him.

I'm concerned that he's yet another who is better in a front two though.

Keep putting the mockers on him Ric , only means one thing 😶‍🌫️

I was listening to radio Leicester earlier , the American guy on there said he’s good in the air , very good with his back to goal and good with linking up play, sounds like a certain Alan Smith

I like the sound of his strengths, but I hope we use him correctly. Daka is better in a two and now we have James we actually could go 4-4-2.

James looked good and combative against us for Birmingham a couple of years back and now this guy seems like an absolute menace. Bring on the shithousery.

From what the guy was saying on the When You’re Smiling podcast it sounds like he can also still play as a single striker but obviously you just don’t want to isolate him as he is good with his back to goal, playing others off him etc.

Hopefully we would push Ramsey up nearer to assist with the press and support rather than him dropping deep like Bilal was doing

The only position I could actually see Ayew functioning in a team is as a support striker deeper than the number 9. Ideally I’m hoping that the recent signings mean that Ayew is no longer in the team, but I’ll wait to see what the new signings bring.

Ramsey might well be the man, but I’m assuming that he’ll be a bit raw. Admittedly I’m coming from a knowledge base of zero in terms of what he might bring.

The hat-trick mentioned in the audio above. Shows he gets into the box and can finish first time. Worth watching for the first Saprissa goal!

My standout thought whenever I watch clips of him is that his movement off the ball is smart. Probably the most important trait of Vardy's.

Biggest problem for Daka and Iheanacho is they never quite had the same sort of instincts. Yeah the team has to create good chances but you also need forwards to get in good positions to be picked out, it's a two way street.

He isn't electric in his pace and a lot of goals look like quite simple around the penalty area but he seems good at getting himself free somewhere he can be picked out.

He's taller than I thought - Wikipedia has him at 1.76m (5'9"), but Transfermarkt (more reliable) puts him at 1.82m - just under 6'. So, a build better suited as a target man / sole striker than I thought. It seems Feyenoord haven't played him in that role, the few starts for them, have been as a 'false No 9' (behind the main striker) - not even in a two - most of his 21 appearances (4 goals) have been mainly as a Sub. Philadelphia used him as a sole centre forward and he had a very decent scoring record for them - 35 goals from 76 appearances.

He looks a shade under six foot and is pretty decent in the air. Seems fairly strong with his back to goal.

He's not exactly a Kieffer Moore style throw back but looks pretty competent attacking a cross and receiving the ball to his feet under pressure.

I said in another thread but he’s like a deluxe Fryatt. Quick feet but slow, competent in the air but not a targetman and a very tidy finisher.

Philadelphia Union podcast said he was used almost exclusively in a front two there where he scored a lot of goals.

Think it’s 4 parts blind optimism and 1 part detailed analysis of the available information on him, but I’ve convinced myself he’s going to be amazing!

The mercurys journalistic, editing & proof reading skills being put to the test once again as the story for who replaces Ramsey for the Coventry game mentions the 🇦🇷 Carranza as ‘Mexican’ not only once but twice, maybe they were confused with his dual citizenship of 🇮🇹 and came up with 🇲🇽 😂
