Thought he looked good, linked the play well. Quicker than I expected as well.

Some decent touches and lay offs, moved well, got some power in his header. Definitely not 5’9”! Very early days but a promising debut and looks like he could be the 9 we need.

A breath of fresh air when he came on. 

 

Ayew is too negative upfront and more often than not he will hold the ball up only to end up playing it back to a defender. 

 

All of Carranzas touches were into the path of a midfielder who was making a progressive forward run. It made a massive difference!

Be interesting to see what Carranza is like when he takes a touch rather than knocking the ball off first time and that’s not a criticism. Thought overall he looked smart enough.

All I said was to play James in his best position and Ayew is not a 9 and better suited as a 10, so one of Winks or Soumare needs to drop out.

While he wasn’t the worst player on the pitch I think it’s reasonable to believe that with everyone fully fit and integrated he should be dropped.

He's not "the problem" but he offers nothing and does nothing. 0 goals and 2 assists in 3 seasons. Doesnt track back properly, never spots the midfield runners, slow, ponderous. JJ was livelier and deserves a spot on that basis.

Didn’t really get much service. Got booked for diving. Went down to easily in the box once. Couple of wayward strikes. 
 

Hard to say but looked like it was a bit of a welcome to the championship game. He’ll get stuck in but gave me Perez vibes.

He'll be decent at this level once he's settled in- need someone up top to make a nuisance of themselves.

 

What does worry me is that having an actual striker on the pitch didn't make us look any more balanced.

Looked as bad as Patson Daka usually does last night. Not very promising. An awful dive thrown in there as well.
