I think it’s down to a lack of faith the club will actually appoint someone credible to turn the club around. Anyone that comes in has to also work with the same bunch of players who have no intention of performing here, and whilst whoever is in charge has no possibility of moving on the deadwood and forming their own team, there’s little hope of anything happening Not saying it’s right, it’s just a complete mess of a situation 1

Frankel1981 Posted 27 December 2025 Posted 27 December 2025 Dream job for someone 3/6 months then get golden farewell

I wonder if Rudkin had his backside in gear with this appointment and there was a clause in Marti's contract, where he would receive a much reduced payout if we were, for example, in the bottom half of the division come the new year. Doubt it, but we can hope. 1
teblin Posted 27 December 2025 Posted 27 December 2025 (edited) There are lots of issues at play here, but if I could see a pattern of play that just wasn’t getting results I could accept it to some extent. But we in the whole struggle to create chances, and can’t keep clean sheets so its failing really! Hes not good enough but not sure who will replace him. Edited 27 December 2025 by teblin
Spudulike Posted 27 December 2025 Posted 27 December 2025 Listened to a bit of BBC RL on the way home post match and Pipes reckons that 7 points out of 9 is now the only thing that's kept Cifuentes employed and has two games to save his job. I think that would be true in normal circumstances but there's no evidence the board will take any action. They are dormant and running the club down, it seems. Nothing will happen until it's too late, and probably not even then. How could they do this to OUR club
JimJams Posted 27 December 2025 Posted 27 December 2025 He's not getting the sack. If there was any budget for January, you'd use that to attract a new manager and the window is open next week. And because there isn't going to be any budget, it further devalues how attractive we are to any potential suitors. So we're keeping him and spending fxxk all. ....and a happy new year! 1 1
Claudio Fannieri Posted 27 December 2025 Posted 27 December 2025 Never fear the club are busy working on getting us back in good fettle for the new year ……well I have received a text to say there is a 35% Boxing Day sale.
ian__marshall Posted 27 December 2025 Posted 27 December 2025 You know the situation is bad when you genuinely think we'd have been far better off keeping RVN. MC is so clueless, it's like we ran a competition at a Tigers game to be the manager of City for a season. All this nonsense about having watched Barcelona. I presume it was after having downed 10 pints because the resemblance is nonexistent. He's the manager equivalent of Danny Ward, genuinely baffled that he is a professional manager. I've seen far better managers coaching Division 6 Sunday League sides down the local playing fields. On reflection, the fact that RVNs best result saw us stick 5 past MCs QPR last season was the biggest red flag. I'll be honest, from the outside he looked a decent coach at QPR, and I was relatively happy when we appointed him. This was reaffirmed in pre-season with all the sound bites he kept dishing out. I thought at last we've found a manager who will address all the ongoing issues at the club. How wrong was I. The bloke just spouts nonsense and his actions are completely inconsistent with his words. I genuinely would take Russell Martin in an instant. For all of his faults he at least has a style of play even if it comes unstuck from time to time. 1
Parker Pen Posted 27 December 2025 Posted 27 December 2025 Outplayed by Watford at home who themselves aren’t brilliant but had a system and you could see what they were trying to achieve. Marti on the other hand has no plan and no tactics. His subs are horrific. Over 10 points lost from winning positions due to his ineptitude, which then breeds the complacency that has led to the first half hammerings. The players look confused and devoid of any ideas and any ability that they have is slipping away fast. This league is poor as well let’s not forget. Sack him today, his assistant, the new goalkeeping coach and Analyst! 3
Popular Post fleckneymike Posted 27 December 2025 Popular Post Posted 27 December 2025 We do none of the things he claimed he likes his sides to do. We don’t aggressively press. We don’t move the ball quickly. We don’t ever play on the front foot. We do isolate our own wingers We do rely exclusively on individual brilliance We do fold under the merest whiff of pressure 9
Rubbersoul Posted 27 December 2025 Posted 27 December 2025 I think his most impressive act is convincing a good portion of the fan base that this group of players is worse than it is 4
Nolucklcfc Posted 27 December 2025 Posted 27 December 2025 He has been absolutely useless but again, I don’t think they’ll do anything until we drop into the bottom 3.
l444ry Posted 27 December 2025 Posted 27 December 2025 The club will dilly dally as usual, give him input to the January window then sack him when it finally dawns on them that he should never have got the job in the first place. Business as usual. 1

Dan Posted 27 December 2025 Posted 27 December 2025 He's been dealt a terrible hand but I've seen none, literally zero signs that you'd want him if circumstances were right. 4
CWLCFC Posted 27 December 2025 Posted 27 December 2025 Been second best in 95% of games this season, that should tell you all you need to know about whether this manager should keep his job or not.
winteriscoming Posted 27 December 2025 Posted 27 December 2025 What the fvck does he say to them at half time? I can’t think of a decent second half display this season. I’m saying we’ve been brilliant in the first half of games but the performance levels drop massively in the second half of matches.

My only ambition for this season now is that we somehow finish outside the bottom 3 after the points deduction. This manager will never have the nous to mount a serious promotion campaign, especially with a squad that is so lacking in terms of physicality, energy and commitment.
coolhandfox Posted 27 December 2025 Posted 27 December 2025 100% willy puller warnock would get more out of this side.
