I don't think it'll take 2 years, you assume we have the parachute payment to rely on. The club have already secured a loan against that payment. So it's already allocated. If this is the case, administration might happen next season.  I just can't see anyone mad enough to take the amount of debt on.

Also building a squad, if there is money, would be harder to assemble as well.

Bleak outlook

Was it a loan or a line of credit? If the latter was it used?

@Bonanza @KlaaZ Any info / opinions on Lommel the past few years?

Looks like they have basically just been stuck in the 2nd div

Lommel is just a feeder club in the City Group organisation.

Each year they get very young (18 and 19 year-olds) foreign players, who get transferred to the other clubs in the City Group when they're good enough. Either that or they get sold for a profit.

Could this be why the appointment of a manager has been delayed - to get him in first and for him to play a part in the choice or at least to bring the two in together as a reset?

Careful, you're being far too positive about the club there.

You're hopefully correct which could explain why (this time) there was no list of manager options for in case we sacked Marti.

I see its been said he'll be working with the City Women's team, as well as the Men, I wonder if, given his 3 years in Belgium, with Lommel, if he'll also be tasked with looking after Leuven - ie employed by King Power, rather than Leicester City. At the Etihad, he was actually the City Football Group's Global Director of Player Development, so not just responsible for the Man City teams.

In a brand new role, the sporting director will work alongside director of football Jon Rudkin on matters such as transfers, contracts, and managerial appointments, and therefore the direction of the club.

During his round of interviews last month, City chairman Aiyawatt ‘Top’ Srivaddhanaprabha said the new arrival would be integral to determining the identity of the club.

“We have to get back to what the identity of Leicester is,” Top said. “When the structure changes and we get the new sporting director in, we will make sure that we are seeing what the identity of Leicester is, what football we should play, what player we should bring in. I think that will be more clear.

“The identity has to be clear. I’m not saying the new guy is going to be coming in and changing everything just like that. It will take time. We have to build a squad and a culture.

“He’s not going to be a wizard, but it will be someone who is sure how we should play football and will help the manager and players to understand how.”

Susan Whelan has saved her reputation by moving on.

Most definitely. She was smart enough to see where this was going. No one else was. "We promote"

Inside of football and business generally she is very well respected with good leadership principles sadly Khun passing left the family lacking leadership.

Can't speak for the other two but if relegation is the only viable route to King Power leaving then unequivocally yes.

I can't speak for others but as someone who still goes home and away, I could never get to a position of willing my team to lose every week. Wanting change is one thing but unequivocally hoping for a sustained losing run, relegation and ultimate administration/ bankruptcy is absolutely wild. We've seen Simmo and Huth rallying against this position this week too.

This grifter gobshite is going to keep talking about us until we stop giving him the attention he craves.

Catastrophic failure at Sunderland and Charlton, yet somebody on here was calling for him to join our board 😆

Absolutely respect your opinion, the common ground on this is that we need new ownership and ideally that would be in an environment we aren't on the verge of going bankrupt (another relegation) but how would you feel if our owner refuses to sell us and the decline continues and we stare in the face of what I am talking about anyway?

Bottom line is, this is all on the ownership and those around them. It is a catastrophic decline that may well threaten our existence. Our fanbase has been very forgiving/apathetic due to the awkward situation of what we achieved but if we get this wrong as a fanbase then we cannot feel sorry for ourselves, we need to demand better for this great club of ours. The custodians of our club have let us down in recent years.

So, it's broken.  And the person in the front line of deciding how to fix it? Yep, it's who broke it in the first place.

Thanks Top, I'll sleep better tonight.

He made the decisions that were unpopular and the show made him look a twat. I don't think "catastrophic failure" is quite right.

Awaiyatt's ownership of LCFC though, now there's "catastrophic failure".

Basically corporate / Linkedin 'high performance' bollocks jarring with the messy reality of a struggling football club.

Best summary was when Aiden McGeady criticised him for flying in on a club-financed helicopter to make long-serving low-wage staff redundant.

Here's the most famous clip from where he thought he could turn a club in crisis around by playing a different song when the players are coming onto the pitch

King Power are shit but this guy is still an absolute grifter.

What about his spell at Charlton was a "catastrophic failure"? They got promoted in his only full season there no?

I wonder if Top will do the same when it comes time for us to make a lot of low paid staff redundant.

Dunno I’d say he’s doing better than your mr ‘we promote’. Sunderland are now Premier League, Charlton are above us.

They will survive long into the future due to his actions, us probably out of existence in a few years thanks to toppy

I forgot about the loan. How much was it? Yeah it's looking bleak. I don't see how Top can keep the club running given that KP went into administration and had to be bailed out by the Thai government unless he had loads of cash stashed away under his own name which seems unlikely. The finances were structured around the club competing in Europe so as soon as we dropped out the financial woes began
