Was at Sunderland briefly during their horror years, likewise Martyn Glover.

Ah so he has history of dealing, or not, with horrors.

Wonder how this is going to go

What was the news about him only being able to start end of the season? Presumably we've paid more to someone to get him earlier?

Alan Nixon, who struggles with comprehension, reading and writing. Which isn’t ideal for a journalist.

Losing track on who’s in now & out

is he the chap that was announced last week that can’t join till the summer ( now earlier ) or is he someone else

Who cares anymore it’s going to be the same result until Rudkin goes.

What does the role of a sporting director actually entail?

"the sporting director will take care of more of the day-to-day, work more on strategy and what we should play [like], what identity, what players should be brought in, and work with the young ones in the academy" according to Top.

They’ll try anything to stop us protesting.

So many post so many times about how 'they' don't care about the fans.

If that was the case do you really think they'll be forking out for whatever his salary is just to try and persuade you not to protest.

Perhaps some kind of balance could/should be applied and you actually try and give them some credit for what appears to be a good move in bringing this guy onboard.

It's the constant neagtivity from so many on here that alienates others.

PS

Don't take this personally Katy, just chose to reply to your post, could have been sooooo many others.

Whilst this may be a good appointment. This is all purely designed to take the heat off Tops best friend Jon who has been shielded by our owner, because loyalty is the most important trait in Thailand, not competence in your job.

As always under the current King Power ownership, I await with baited breath to see if anything actually changes, and more specifically improves.

Protests can still continue. At least they're doing something (they still have a hell of a lot to do to gain trust though!)

Wonder if there's a chance he doesn't actually start here if we get relegated and are on the brink.

We are poaching a CFG guy that’s on the up, you better believe a contract scenario has been drafted and agreed by McCarron for all scenarios, those being relegation, Championship and Premiership.

I gather that he’ll be starting in April perhaps, don’t understand why we can’t just buy him out of Cfg as we need him now but then I am also aware CFG have had a reshuffle themselves with McCarron and 3 others being apart of that at director level last year so maybe they aren’t willing for him too go immediately and need him too see out his notice.

he’s done well for himself McCarron but we are a huge jump for him from his previous sporting director position at Lommel, even if relegated we’ll be an attractive proposition, he’s not a fan don’t forget, he’s a young lad climbing the ladder, look at our recent history, our training facilities, we are a massive step up for someone in his position regardless too a issues.

If he gets it right with us, he can keep climbing, make no bones about it, success will only make us a stepping stone, that’s how things work in football, but if he’s a success with us and moves on, then he’ll have done a job we need

The stuff that Rudkin was supposed to be doing.

Sporting Director and Director of Football are ultimately synonymous.

A sporting director should be in charge of running the footballing side of the business outside the realm of coaching the first team. So, building the squad and maintaining it first and foremost. But more than likely also building and overseeing the operational teams that directly impact the football like sports science, scouting, data analytics, etc.

Should all be his remit.

Oh no worries, I’m feeling partically cynical at the moment.

Also, my humour is probably lost on here a bit 😆

Damn right they will! The trust we have in them is in hell so this will only slightly touch the sides.

May be an image of football and crowd

God, just, you know, those thin style jumpers over a shirt. I hate him already. It just screams recruitment consultant circa 2007. I’m out, I can’t do it anymore. The club’s gone.

'So Enzo  what should I do?'

Say 'Yes John until you can get a better job'

Seems to suggest the start and end of our recruitment search for a TD was to ask Enzo about anyone connected to the City Group

With the man city connections I wonder if top is planning a club sale to the city group.
