Akinbiyi obviously suffered here because of the price tag, expectation and name he came in to replace.

But relative to where we are now, I'd take him- went on to have a very solid championship career.

Can any of the others lay claim to 1 goal in 50?

Can any of the others lay claim to being our joint top European goalscorer?

Yes akinbyi could be comically bad at times, but on reflection probably the least worst from that list.

honorable mention for Vassell

You're right. Hadn't thought of it like that. £25m well spent then :D

I feel a bit sorry for Daka, supposed to be the heir to literally our best ever player and he joined right as the club decided to sell-implode. He's more of symptom in all of this than a cause.

He's scored 24 goals (+17 assists) and started 69 games for us. Using 71 sub appearances (of which we were probably losing in most) as a stick to beat him with is a tiny bit unfair. He's not without his problems, poor balance, underdeveloped hold up ability and so on but we've not exactly helped him out.

Inability to control the ball has always been my issue. And he's always on the floor.

He isn't as bad as Hammond, De Vries, Benjamin all were. The only benefit those players have is that we didn't pay £20m+ for them.

Was always going to be hard replacing Vardy. Club got it wrong and shouldn't have allowed him to carry on for so long without us having a good replacement lined up. Didn't help managers all seem to just play one striker nowadays.

For £1 million Graham Fenton deserves to be in that list as well.

Fenton had a career spanning nearly 20 years and scored a grand total of.......37 goals

How has Beckford got so many votes? Spent more time on his arse than his feet.

Because he’d walk into this current team. The others wouldn’t really be much of an improvement

It honestly never occurred lol

I see no colour. :innocent:

Obviously meant it as a joke but it's quite funny to see people post "what about Musa and Elvis Hammond"

Here you go. A whole outfield worth of strikers past and present, but can any of them oust our currently ineffective frontline?

I've gone with players who have had at least a whole season of being played at least semi-regularly - we've had players so bad that they almost never got selected.

Just a reminder we've had to rely on some real cross within living memory.

But we're they drossier than our current crop?

Why is Nacho not here?

Why would he be? Anyone who would have him down as one of our worst forwards over the last 30 years needs a good long think
