Went Bristol last night first time nice ground, home end looked like a state of art airport massive glass entrance bright and modern.

walked around to away end and it wasn’t as good!

Is this normal for grounds to treat away fans worse, not very hospitable is it to ‘guests’

obviously only see home end at KP

still one of better away concourses though.’

Of course it's normal. We're away fans.

Fulham is one of the most strange ones as it all blends into one.

Ashton Gate has been improved in recent years though. I didn't go last night but went the previous season when we lost 1-0. Think that was our first visit since it's redevelopment.

You must've seen pics of away ends after certain clubs have been beaten. Seats ripped up, basins ripped off walls, pipework destroyed.

This isn’t horse racing.

What’s our away end like at the KP?

We treat them like idiots as we know they will turn up anyway.

Same as the home fans.

Well - the away end as it is now (Ateyo Stand) used to house home supporters prior to the redevelopment of the South and Lansdown stands.

There’s changing rooms underneath the stand and the teams used to enter the field from that very stand.

Away fans used to sit at the opposite end, which at that time was little more than a shed - but boy could you make some noise in that end!

Ateyo’s not too bad for acoustics either from memory.

It was much worse in the eighties. Mostly open terraces and very basic facilities. A lot of grounds have improved significantly since then. I was at Ashton Gate last night. Got a pint very quickly at half time and very short queue for a pee so no complaints from me.
apart from the second half on the pitch which was rank 😳

They initially wanted to build a new stadium in Ashton Vale, only about a couple of 100 yards away, but couldn't beat the planning system. What they have now is the best they could do on their current site with lower capacity. The away stand can't be developed due to residential houses close by but the rest of the stadium is pretty decent, although I wouldn't fancy watching from the upper deck of that massive stand on our right (perhaps better for the rugger). I didn't notice the rugby lines on the pitch like the last time we were there but it's a shame that's it's become a multi purpose stadium.

The pop up bars and food stalls are brilliant outside.

All that said, the atmosphere is pretty much dead like most modern and redeveloped stadiums.

Don't recommend needing to drop a deuce in any away end gents. I swear they don't stock them with bog roll on purpose.

You took a shit in the tobacco and cocaine parlour?!

That fan zone was for all fans.

We went in the huge glass fronted sports bar, saw other LCFC fans in there, were welcomed in and it was incredibly impressive Inside. Spotless toilets and various areas with soft furnishings to sit on and plush sofas upstairs in smaller booths.

Decent range of beers at the hugely long bar, no queuing, massive screen and numerous other smaller screens showing the CL game. .

Outside there were a seriously good range of pop up food and drink stalls and vans and the the burgers we had were top notch and a great vibrant atmosphere.

We parked free of charge on a side street literally 100 metres from the stadium, and got away very quickly after, due to the massive amount of home fans using the Park And Ride bus service supplied.

Both my son and I said this was the best away day ground/experience we have had in many years and we have been to masses of away games.

Puts our pathetic attempt at a fan zone to shame by miles.

Bristol City recently devolved their ground. The only stand that remains is the away end which used to be their home end if im not mistaken.

Still there, up in the corner under a big advert for Thatchers. Loud drum(s) and some flag waving but couldn't really hear them. Could hear the players in the first half but things obviously got a bit more excitable in the second. Only heard come on you reds a couple of times when the fans in the home end chirped up. We didn't have the numbers to make much difference but the usual songbook got rolled out.

I fell backwards over my seat when Bobby scored.

Not just the fans, away teams can get treated worse.

At the KP, the away team facilities aren't as good and they even have a big pillar in the middle of the away changing room that serves no structural purpose.

I suppose most clubs do it?
