To be fair Choudhury & Thomas have also played regular Prem football. Even played in a cup final. I know no one rates them now but that’s another 2 who have played at that level.

I'm going off the basis that the following academy players in the last 15 years have forged a career in the premier league;

Chilwell

Barnes

KDH (jury out a bit but now performing well at Everton)

Schlupp

King (his best seasons were in the Championship)

Happy to be corrected. I know history isn't a future predictor but it's a good indicator.

Ever heard of Calvin Bassey?

Also a little unknown because of their route to football but we released Ivan Toney at 16

some say he learnt the penalty technique from Gally (they don’t but what a pen taker he was)

Yeh missed him, probably because he never played for us. So add him to the shortlist

Both according to most of us are poor footballers, hence leaving them out.

I wasn’t trying to have a pop at you or anything! I get why you left them out

Seeing players like those 2 being genuine starters and squad players in the Premier League is why I don’t like to jump straight to writing youth players off from potentially being at that level in the future

Happens across plenty of other Prem clubs as well

I'd rank them in this order now but this list is by no means static.

Page

Nelson

Monga

Mosti

Hutchinson

Evans

Jayden Joseph and Henry Cartwright will reach a good level. Both of them are hard workers on the pitch and have a good mix of physical and technical ability.

Think they can both be part of the first team squad next season, especially if funds are limited again.

If you're counting Toney as us then you should count King as Chelsea.

Top Half Prem Level and Above

1. Page (recency bias opinion)

2. Monga

3. Motsi

4. Evans

5. Nelson

Lower Half Prem/Top End Championship

5. Aluko

6. Hutchinson (but haven’t seen enough)

Solid Championship Players

7. Braybrooke

8. Alves

Also De Lisle to throw into that but haven’t seen anywhere enough/have enough evidence for him to judge despite him killing it at U18 level and England youth level.

Honourable mentions for Joseph and Cartwright as they seem good pros and/or versatile enough to make a very decent career.

Monga has got the highest ceiling. He will play in the prem, so will Nelson and Louis Page also has that potential.

The rest of them Braybrooke, Thomas etc can all carve themselves decent championship careers.

The rest are unlikely play above Championship level. Cry if you like but I think that's the reality.

Death, taxes and Tommy G being positive about the academy. Ignoring still that teams were trying to sign Nelson

Nelson will 100% play above that level.

Alves 20 and has done more that KDH had by that age, who didn’t get his first loan until 21.

Alves in a poor Cardiff side last season in the championship had a better goal/assist contribution per minute played ratio than Fatawu this season.

1 for every 167 minutes played compare to Fatawu at 178 minutes.

Think you could easily see, Page, Nelson, Alves, Braybrooke and Monga play in the PL at some point.

Some posts in here, mine included, might be hyperbole… but If you don’t see Premier League players in Page and Nelson then you’re watching the wrong sport my man.

I think it's a bit premature to put a Championship level ceiling on them.  Who knows how they will develop?    Even if you're right, at least they won't get poached and they will provide the nucleus of our Championship rebuild.

I would also say that the Oxford manager tipped Nelson as a future England player.  I think he will have a Premier League career.

Braybrooke - do we really think? i know injury has hampered him but if he was going to develop into this star that has often been touted then it would have happened by now. Tommy G post above isn't as wild as it may first seem.

When we say injury, we do have to remember this was an ACL that kept him out for over a year. He is still a long way from hitting his ceiling. Maybe it wont be PL, but I think its possible.

Reading threads like this and seeing the level of player we look to be developing at youth level is probably the 1 thing to be quite proud of the club for. Be class if we can field a full first 11 of academy products in the league at some point. I personally could never have a hard on for seeing academy players fail.

Look forward to being proved wrong, as we will of made some decent ££ - unless we plummet to Lg 1!

Honourable mention on the list for Stolarczyk. He’s only 3yrs older than Nelson, which given their respective positions isn’t that much. Feel like Championship may be his level but in the overall pyramid of football that’s still a very impressive career.

We just haven’t seen enough of the vast majority. Nelson is the only one of this lot   we’ve seen play enough to judge.

Are we all forgetting that Ivan Toney was in our academy until he was 19 as well??

Impressive given he made his debut for Northampton at 16. Rudkin really does hold them back!

Random players I’ve picked out here I know 😆 but when you think in recent years that the likes of Ashley Barnes, Luke Ayling and Grant Hanley have played in the premier league recently then for some of these lads the premier league should be a minimum ambition.

The likes of Page, Monga, Nelson could easily play for 5+ years if they get the right move and a bit of luck along the way.
