A combination of Lascelles, a new coach getting the basics right and JJ coming back from injury will keep us safe imo.

I doubt either of the kids or Aribo will make profound difference.

Mukasa definitely looks the most likely of the two but you never know. He's obviously got more ability but it's about how they respond mentally to stepping up to senior football in front of actual, real crowds and until they do we won't know.

May not make profound difference but just a little extra enthusiasm would be good.

Why not, We've been doing it all season.

True.

Also, we would need to 15 passes from Vestergaard so a defensive midfielder first, to make sure the opposition can get into their optimum shape first.

He isn’t replacing Ayew or Daka unfortunately.

He’s nowhere near the level required for league 2, never mind a team in the championship. He’ll be cover for the U23s.

A bizarre signing all around, especially when the first team actually needs a striker.

And why would Chelsea send him here if that was the case...

Because they aren’t using him either way. He’s not even getting in their U23s regularly, so best to have him at least playing games at some form of level rather than sat around the place doing nothing. I imagine he will play at some point for our U23s.

Let’s hope he replicates this !

There was a similarity with Ayew, the way he fell over after scoring the 4th. Although, obviousky Ayew would have fallen over instead of scoring the 4th... or the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 5th. :D

I wonder if we’ve managed to sign the wrong bloke.

Does Chelsea have a Richard Du John on their books or something? Their squad is so gigantic there’s bound to be a few with similar names.

Just having the four new faces in training has got to result in a step up in intensity. Lots of players may have been a bit complacent before, but showing what you can do in front of a new player and having competition for your place must naturally raise standards. A rising tide lifts all boats!

Without being negative, it really only depends on how good their attitude is and if they're not bogged down by the current squads attitude.

He has a lot of raw talent. One of the best things that happened for Vardy when he came (who also was quite raw when he came in) is that he had Nugent and Wood in front of him - that first season which was not good meant he could spend time out and adapt.

We don’t have that now. With the 3 we have, I think none will excel as the lone striker. We’ve got to go two up top

Any stats on this lad, transfermarkt doesn't seem to have much and apparently nothing for last year?

Mainly 45 min stints for their 23s this year, 2 goals and 0 assists.

'Bare goals'.

Hope he delivers. Good to have someone with that confidence through the door. At least we have options now with him and Mukasa both being able to play multiple positions.

With Mavididi and Monga rotating on the left, Richards hopefully replacing Ayew and rotating with Fatawu, and Mukasa able replace Ayew or De Cordova-Reid, we now have options to allow Page to play his natural game as well as James when he's back. Aribo gives us an option in midfield too as well as an emergency striker. Hopefully James and Ramsey can both come back and impact the squad during the run-in too.

I feel good with these guys but it remains to be seen if they can settle and make a quick impact. Lascelles is a huge question mark but I've a feeling it's last chance saloon time for him. One where the stars align for club and player. We need an unlikely hero and he could be it.

hopefully some of the others now realize that there’s actual competition for their places… let’s see if they make any effort to keep their place in the team..
