Big game if we want to capitalise on what has been about 1 and a half's worth of good performance.

I hope one day it'll all just click and the hard work pays off and we absolutely batter a team.

Mukasa clearly has so much quality so our attacks have to be built through him. Hopefully Fatawu is fit enough to start because if he and Mukasa can tick, it can only mean good things.

I've noticed because of our work rate under Rowett that we get players in the box more frequently as well as players working hard defensively and getting blocks in and making it difficult for opposition especially Boro tonight.

Things are looking promising but need to build on this consistency.

Thought we would lose this prior to Rowett but I'm quietly confident now. I still think they will be tough but are beatable.

Begovic

Thomas

Nelson

Lascelles (🤞)

Aluko (Riccy needs a rest)

BDCR

Skipp

Winks

Aribo

Fatawu

Mukasa (false 9)

I think in particular when JJ is back, we should definitely try Mukasa further forward, wouldn’t need to drop Winks/Skipp either.

Mavididi definitely needs dropping. Could put Monga there and Reid central instead of Aribo as another option.

I can't remember when I last felt confident before the game, we've seen resilience, really looking forward to this game, I couldn't watch the 2nd half against Stoke but I've seen enough now to think if we go a goal down or face some adversity Saturday, there's a bit of backbone, I have to watch the full 90 minutes regardless of how the game goes its probably been a good 6 months since I've felt like that.

I think d1cking around with false 9s is silly right now. Play Mukasa where he has proven to be his best so far and have someone on the box. Daka wasn’t brilliant but he caused problems that disappears when Ayew came on.

Yeah I get that,  just wish we had a decent striker. Assuming Winks and Skipp continue to impress,

who gets dropped to make way for JJ?

As much as we have felt better the last 2 games, our last win was 9 games ago. Skipp and Winks aren't first names on the team sheet yet, especially when JJ is back.  I think shape is really important. JJ plays ahead of either of those 2 when he is back.

The issue with a false 9 is that whoever plays there will naturally come deep to get involved. Whilst Daka has his faults, his presence forces teams to defend deeper meaning we can push higher up the pitch.

He has to play imo.

I would go with

Begovic

Ricardo

Lascelles (if fit- Okoli if not)

Nelson

Thomas

Winks

Skipp

Fatawu

Mukasa

BDCR

Daka

Stolarczyk, Aluko, Okoli (Gray), Page, Aribo, Monga, Richards, Mavididi, Ayew
