I think in particular when JJ is back, we should definitely try Mukasa further forward,

If we was going to mess around with a “false 9” then I would rather it be JJ, he seems to know when to time his runs and he clearly knows where the goal is

Unpopular opinion alert.

I quite like Fatawu coming on as a sub at the moment. We've scored 3 without him, so might actually help him feel he doesnt have to try so hard and trust those around him a bit more. Also, as a tired defender, seeing him come on must be hell.

I agree, he hasn’t shown enough recently to be a none negotiable starter. And like you say, running at tired defenders…. Give the lad something to prove.

Trouble is we’re a bit stuck for wingers. Mavididi can’t be arsed and Monga isn’t pulling up any trees

Begovic

Ricky

Okoli (Or Vesty/Lascelles if fit)

Nelson

Thomas

Winks

Skipp

Fatawu

Musaka

BDCR

Daka

Gives us Mavididi, Monga, Aribo, Page, Aluko and Ayew (sadly) as our most likely options off the bench.

Extra 24 hours rest for us with them playing tonight. Not a huge advantage but players/teams do start to tire towards the end of the season.

Despite having much less involvement Monga has the same goal contribution return then Mavididi

Monga needs to play continuously. He’s the type of player who’s able you can play into form. I agree with Mavididi, he’s been shocking all season. I’ve got a feeling Fatawu has lost heart, you can’t blame him, but his performances which have been inconsistent, have really dropped off a cliff over the last month. I’d prefer to see Monga and Fatawu played to be honest, and bring Mavididi on.

But, I fully expect Rowett to lean on the likes of Bobby, Aribo. Ayew to play on the wings. He will want experience players on the pitch, to make us more solid….

We can't injure them again.

James needs to play the last 10 games of the season. Rushing him back when Winks, Skipp and Mukasa is looking like a good midfield would be a huge mistake IMO.

Make sure he's fit and then get him back after the Ipswich game.
