Really surprised how poor they were 

 

A win for them and they’d have still been well within a play off shout but they did absolutely nothing

Fight, one touch passing, pushing forward, no messing around at the back and looking like a coached team!!! They all worked hard for one another and played well. Special shout out for Skippy who was everywhere!

Dammit, broke our 30-game run...👀

 

I'll eat humble pie, I was so disappointed in that lineup. In Rowett we trust eh.

 

First 90 performance all season, it feels like. Agree with others on the save, Jakub saving that penalty is such a massive, massive moment.

 

Players looked more and more confident as time went on with that clean sheet, and fought for everything. Some actual pressing to boot!

 

Not holding my breath as Bristol were poor, but some really good performances out there. Fatawu back on it, Mavididi put a shift in and linked well with Fatawu, Thomas had a good game, Nelson excellent (love it when he strides forward into midfield with a burst of pace and the opposition have no idea what to do), and Skipp...Olly Skipp, that match was yours.

 

Phew. On to the next one then!

Same again (jn both perfirmance, application and hopefully a win) against QPR and I might start to believe a bit more.

 

Yes we were better, but Bristol were poor, and I still think the starting line up with Drink Driver, the Falling Snail, and BdR was dog sh1t, regardless of the result ( which I'll now put my contradictory hat on) which I'm ecstatic about along with the clean sheet.

Let's see what the next match brings, oh and I still want King Power well and  truly  out.!

After the Norwich game and the complete lack of energy we showed, I get why he wanted to make changes. It's just unfortunate that the changes are absolutely hideous lol

 

Having the ability to run trumps being worse at playing football.

 

Considering we played a lot of that game with 10 men that was very solid. Nice to see us winning without needing an outrageous goal to do it as well.

 

Rowett's doing a very decent job so far.

Been mentioned but Bristol were absolutely awful. Totally shite, so difficult to know how good we were, but at least they seemed arsed tonight. Sharper in tackles, quicker onto second balls, trying to play through lines more quickly consistently through the game. It looked like pretty much all of them cared and wanted to fight for the team. Hopefully that’s what continues

A good performance, great to get a win and clean sheet. Time to build on this Saturday. Nice to see them working hard and throwing bodies on the line when we were penned in end of first half.

I'll just be happy to see end of this season and hope we survive, but it's impossible to watch that 90 minutes and not think what if we had a decent coach from the start.

 

Game management was so much better. Pressing, effort. All the basics.

 

Can talk with exotic managers all you want about philosophy but we've lacked all them basics all season and it's why we are struggling. 

 

Not over by any means, need same again Saturday.

That's the thing, most teams we play in this league are shite, it's why it's been so frustrating this season

We have a decent run of games now. Rowett not had it easy, with Stoke, Ipswich, Boro and a revived Norwich… but he’s done well to pick up points. Tonight we got a deserved win, let’s get more points on the board with some winnable games coming up.

Hated the line up but a big win, Bristol were very poor but the effort was there tonight and everyone put bodies on the line for the clean sheet that finally came.

 

Nelson, penalty incident aside, was superb. Thomas and Okoli also very good. Huge moment from Jakub with the penalty save, glad for him and the defence to get a clean sheet.

 

However, best player on the park was Oli Skipp, absolutely superb. Ran the show, calm, composed and put a foot in when it needed it too.

 

Must build on it Saturday, another huge opportunity to move up the table.

Penalty miss could be our James Maddison v Everton moment. Changed the season. The main outcome of this match IMO is that we didn’t make a mistake leading to a goal, we defended very well overall albeit against a poor attacking outfit. Well deserved win, hope the players find some confidence from that. The monkey is off our backs with the clean sheet too, something to build on :thumbup:
