This side is about as bad as the one that was relegated in 2007/08. We gift teams' goals, especially at home. I only see one outcome, as we're simply not good enough to get the 3 wins we may need to get out of this.

A big chance today against the next to worse side we have to play in our last 7 games. They were on the beach and they were there for the taking. Unsurprisingly we couldn't do it.  Dread to think what Monday's game will turn out like.

Nah, that 07/08 team were much better defensively. This is definitely the worst defence we’ve ever had.

where exactly do you think the corner flag is, because he's running in the direction of goal, direct course with the keeper before he gets taken out. Breaks to Skipp but there's no attempt by the defender to challenge for the ball, it's entirely to stop Daka getting 1v1

How would it ever be a red card? The Preston player hasn’t denied a goal scoring opportunity because the referee played the advantage and the goal scoring opportunity was carried out (but missed).

It wasn’t serious foul play, it wasn’t a particularly bad challenge, he attempts to get the ball but Daka gets himself in ahead of him and he fails to get it.

What rule would ever make that a red card?

When some of those shots were the likes of Okoli attempting a wonder goal from 35 yards, it was an illustration of lazy football,

2xg to 0.4xg

Weve got a team of shit bags. But I wont hear that Rowett isn't doing his best to grt something out of them. I find it mental.

We were unlucky to concede twice and we deserved to win - troubling we didn’t really create a chance of our own though. Gifted two goals.

An xG greatly aided by two goals put on a plate by Preston, Daka’s first would rival a penalty of it’s xG worth.

He ought to start working on their mental application then. Cos any hint of requiring  mental strength they cave in

Daka had his best game in 5 years. When we can put pressure on teams like in the last 20 minutes we look threatening. Problem is defensively we are awful and the midfield offer no protection. The only way forward I see is to go for broke. We have scored a mid table amount of goals but bottom 3 conceded. It's 2 from 3 now. We must beat Wednesday.

xG stats don't mean anything at the moment. We're having lots of low quality shots which is adding up on the xG front. We were mainly reliant on Preston playing us in on goal twice to create big opportunities.

PNE were absolutely  dog shit and we could still only manage a draw.

I dont care how good people thought we played or whatever.

We are bunch of tossers who gift goal after goal to some of the worst teams ever to have played at this ground and some fans applauded the players off for getting a draw.

2 gifted goals for us that even my Mrs would have scored and the 2nd went in from the bar.

The entire team are coasting on big money, knowing full well once we are down they will move on to other clubs in the championship or even premiership ! We look like a breading ground for crap/over the hill players to bump there retirement fund up for there holiday homes ! Well done top, atleast you’ve still got your KP fc fans kissing your arse 👍

This team really does feel uniquely useless. If there's a way to not do what needs to be done, they will find it.

This is not a hard league to survive in for these players. But they beat themselves over, and over, and over again.

Preston were terrible, offered virtually nothing and we found a way to not beat them. The same with Watford.

I'd have backed any of the other four down there to win that game today. We obviously couldn't.

Fuk sakes. To add insult to injury, my son fell off his bike and had to hit the emergency room as alll clinics were closed given its good Friday. That said, 3 hours in and out is a win for a holiday.

He had a nasty wound but all is well.

Looks like city has a wound and all is not well.

I’d say there’s a high chance even Sheffield Wednesday would have got their first home win if they’d faced that exact same fixture and performance from Preston as we did….

Couldn’t agree more I reckon at least half of those 28 were pot shots from outside the box with most more endangering the flask drinkers than the goal.

I thought from about 15 minutes in until about 65/70 minutes we were quite passive in large spells happy to just knock it about without really trying to hurt Preston. There was very little to really get you off your seat. It was hardly blood and thunder football.

I think anyone who is trying to say yesterday is a turning point is clutching at straws. We all want to get out of this relegation sized hole but let’s be straight that was yet again another opportunity blown, another chance against rank average opposition missed and on the balance of what we have witnessed this season more evidence that this group ain’t going to suddenly go and win 3 or 4 on the bounce.

I have just watched the highlights again and the only ones that stood out as proper chances were Skipp after the foul on Daka. He should be doing better there. And Daka in the first half when he took the cross down and took the quick shot. Anywhere either side of Iverson and that likely goes in. Given the day Daka was having yesterday you’d say it’s a shame it was on his left foot (cue comments that he doesn’t even have a stronger foot).

I thought there were a couple more that weren’t shown on the highlights I have just watched. One where Daka shot on the turn from within the area that again, too close to the keeper. And another similar one, maybe Mukasa.

I would still say we did enough to have won the game based on the goals scored and chances created. It was another game where due to the calamitous defence, we are left having to score twice to even get a point from these games. Not good enough. So I’m not saying we were great going forward, but at least did what we needed to and bagged a couple.

Vestergaard up top for the last 5 was sexy as well

Honestly you've got to be straight up retarded if you dont love Rowett

Luke Thomas passing the ball out of play when Mav was running down the wing lol

Clowns he's working with. Madness.

Bit harsh on Thomas’s only blemish of the game, particularly when you never know whether Mav is sticking or twisting. He’s been a big problem down our left all season as well. Rowett or Davison have improved Thomas I think, he played well. It’s a very low bar but that was probably our best home display of the season, they even attacked the kop for the first time in two seasons.

Yeah talk about trying to reach for reasons to be critical lol. At the very most, it slightly skims it on the way into the roof of the net but I’m not convinced it even does as it doesn’t seem to be enough to change the course of the ball.

Strange thing to try and use to play down the goal anyway, particularly in light of Preston’s first!

Posted this in another thread.

The downfall in 2007/2008 was our inability to score and the fact we drew too many matches, not the back four. We had the second-best defensive record that season, but only netted 42 times, least amount of all teams.

And the other 23 teams were closer in terms of ability – which is why we went down with 52 (!) points. That it was on the last day of the season against Stoke, with a dire 0-0 draw to top it off, was symptomatic for the entire campaign.

Well, I had yesterday and Monday down as the only wins we'd get before the season's up. We proceed to limp to a draw against one of the worst sides I've seen us play all season which is an achievement and a half.

It's got to the point where I'm not actually convinced we'll even win on Monday after having watched that. I'd kind of fobbed it off but the feeling really sunk in at full time yesterday-we're going down unless Portsmouth and Oxford also fail to win any games.

What's that, we still have to go to Fratton Park?
