splinterdream Posted 5 May Posted 5 May I wonder if they'll discuss how they have got managerial appointments wrong, and why they made the mistakes, so as to avoid making those errors again, or will they just flip a coin again?

Nope. Because the reason is they didn't know what they were doing and those people are the owner and promotion man.

I very much doubt they will sack him. The fan love him (I work with a Stockport season ticket holder) and the owner is aligned with the fans. Unless he’s out of contract, the only way he would likely leave is by someone paying compensation for him. 3

If they haven't had this discussion.... many times ... it shows total incompetence and why we are in league 1
dooflip Posted 6 May Posted 6 May (edited) Over the last few years I’ve posted about what would be the box office appointment at the time based on managers we have been linked with. when maresca left, the box office link was sarri. more recently the box office link was Southgate. now the box office link is Skubala. that says it all. having said that, I think Skubala is great and would take him. But it ain’t happening. Out of the the names linked i would prefer it to be big dick or Fuchs. No my head is not in the gutter. challinor or Skubala would be my top choices but can’t see either happening. Edited 6 May by dooflip 1

Fuchs needs to be interviewed for sure, maybe even Russell Martin (people will laugh which I can understand), the Lincoln manager for obvious reasons makes a lot of sense. Most importantly, he needs signing up in the next two weeks We need to close Seagrave until we are back in the Prem. 15M a year running costs. 1

Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 6 May Posted 6 May If Darren Ferguson is seriously being considered I think there is some serious mirroring going on. It’ll be because - like Aiyawatt - he had a competent father.

Sol thewall Bamba Posted 6 May Posted 6 May We appoint on the surface and interesting DoF with European experience and networks and the leading name at this stage is just another EFL journeyman. Life under King Power goes on. 1
RowlattsFox Posted 6 May Posted 6 May Have they officially announced that Rowett won't be in charge? Surely they can do that as soon as the seasons finished.
RowlattsFox Posted 6 May Posted 6 May The more I think about the options the more I think Tony Mowbray would be a solid choice, but then I thought Rowett might be too.

However we have incompetent fvckwits running our club and a recruitment team thats as much use and affective as a chocolate heat shield on a space capsule. I just don't trust the tools in charge to get a manager with the required standards, mindset, and skills and the types of players you hilighted above and that are desperately needed. We need a competent board and Steve Walsh Snr, and not that clown Glover. The problem is, whilst very skeptical about Glover. He's being handed managers of totally different styles, who all want different things. If a manager comes in and wants "experience", you are buying players on a downward trajectory, unless you have huge amounts of money. So Glover is left scrabbling around for has beens who might do a job. I doubt he's been handed the keys to build the team as he wants, almost like Walsh and Pearson had time to. That's the reason behind this new guy above them all hopefully, he's hopefully going to be given the time and space to have a consistent strategy, with managers and players. But he's totally unproven, so who knows what we're going to get... or whether those above will even allow him. 3
Tommy Fresh Posted 6 May Posted 6 May Rowett's reluctance to involve youth should ring alarm bells for them really 1
