Can someone tell me why Tuchel didn't pick Cole Palmer for the squad....Does he dislike him or something 🤷🏽

Where does Palmer or Foden for that matter fit in the team? Bellingham and Roger’s are more robust and versatile and I think that’s why they haven’t been picked I guess.

That was hard work as ever.

DR Congo played well but we don't help ourselves.

Thankfully Harry found his scoring touch and the subs made a difference.

Bring on that nice easy tie v Mexico in their own backyard.

All about getting the best out of Kane and so there’s a focus on the wide players getting beyond him and/or putting crosses in.

Agree with Rooney again, we are far too open in transition. That said, I do think those gaps will be smaller against the better sides as we will naturally be deeper for much of the game.

That stupid celebration probably goes down like a cup of cold sick to a German

Treason. Stick him in the bloody tower for everyone's sake.

I was going along the lines of what he might say around 12.55am on Monday yet it appears the match is on the BBC

No one is claiming that was some footballing masterclass - simply that we deserved to win that match on the basis of how it went, regardless of if there's quite obvious room for improvement. Whether or not we have "better" players is by the by and an irrelevance in the context of the argument.

Much like Leicester I just think the bar gets lower and lower until it's too late.

Think we just need that one convincing performance to invigorate the players. Maybe the end to this one could be that but I'm not so sure

Yeah man but you can think we deserved to win today and still also recognise there's big big room for improvement. It wasn't a good performance but there is no way we deserved to lose that game.

Yeah I agree. Think I misunderstood the original point

Oh - well it was spookily accurate. Had me fooled.

Tuchel deserves a lot of respect from that, how he changed it.. I love Southgate and for what he did but no way he makes those decisive changes. Congo throw everything at us, their keeper was superman, but the changes totally collapsed them

I think Mexico in Mexico is a great tie for us, and not because it's easy, but because it isn't. I don't think winning today would give much of a confidence boost, but a win in Mexico would.

We absolutely have the quality to win the game, we just need to find our bollocks.

Very, very lucky. God help us against Mexico.

Lucky why, yeah it wasn’t phenomenal but we had much the better chances and shown class.. we need to wake up faster the second half was much better. Improvements needed at the back though. The first 25 mins was terrible

Think the biggest question is why did he pick two injury prone RBs, Djed Spence over Lewis Hall and no actual leader at the back like Harry Maguire.

Such a relief that one.

More than deserved the win, even with how poor we were.

I just don't have the patience for that type of football.

Hope Saka is fit enough to start against Mexico because Madueke just ain't up to the level.

Second time we've ever come from behind to win a knockout World Cup game.

The other time was in 1966 against West Germany.

And I've still not learned to take it easy in the interim 60 years
