Lucky why, yeah it wasn’t phenomenal but we had much the better chances and shown class.. we need to wake up faster the second half was much better. Improvements needed at the back though. The first 25 mins was terrible

Lucky because our fantastic players with all the firepower we have should have taken their chances. With clinical finishing DR Congo would have been left dead and buried.

Great we created chances but taking them is a different kettle of fish.

He is.

We should have a more than capable squad to get past the likes of DR Congo. I don’t care if they haven’t conceded more than 2 in 70 odd games, they don’t have players playing for top quality clubs for a start. It’s a non conversation, we should be beating sides like this and absolutely not come close to losing to them. You’re deluded if you think this guy is doing a good job. The genuine England legend that is Harry Kane got him out of jail.

Deserved it over 90 in the end I think. Congo looked spent on the hour, you could tell when they were trying to break and just seemed to have nothing left.

In a way I think probably Kane's best ever game for England. He's scored loads of goals but I don't think too many of them were that memorable or decisive and often it's Bellingham pulling us out of the mire.

Monday will be ****ing tough though. They've really not looked bad at all. Regardless of the reasons for it, they all apply here, with conditions massively favouring them. They look a very tricky team to break down hardly giving a proper chance up in their games so far let alone a goal. I can see it going to extra time.

If Wissa puts in that sitter to make it 2-0 it could've been too much to claw back

It was the right result in the end but my god we make it look so difficult

Such a slow start and rightfully punished, maybe we were too confident.

But fully deserved the win. Their keeper had the game of his life. Not saying we played great, but we were the better side and anyone that says different is just saying it for the sake of saying it.

We are lucky we’ve got probably the best number 9 in the world at the minute.

To get through a game like that after going 1-0 down so early on, at least has shown we have some resilience about us.

Knockout football is about winning games.

Where does Palmer or Foden for that matter fit in the team? Bellingham and Roger’s are more robust and versatile and I think that’s why they haven’t been picked I guess.

I agree on Foden but Palmer ought to have made it. I know Madueke has more pace than him but he just does not have the technical ability and with Eze and Rodgers in too we needed another gifted creator in Palmer.

Indeed, but if Bellingham and co stick their chances away that doesn’t matter. Let’s not dance around the bush.. Congo played unbelievable but got outclassed eventually. I can say Sweden had some good chances against France too

never in doubt lol

DR Congo they were phenomenal, absolutely solid, the keeper superb. But the chances outweighed them. Was it vintage England no, but that’s tournament football quality needs to show through. Congo has a go and exposed our weakness, but let’s face it if all our chances go in too it’s just a simple 7-2 win. Let’s not overhype

People lamenting Foden not being there are having a laugh surely? Or failed to notice the number of good games he has had for England can be counted on the fingers of 1 hand.

Just saw that Wissa miss again :o

Even Daka would be proud of that one!

Even Stevie Wonder would have struggled missing that!

Pivotal  miss, that goes in England dont recover.

It might be because of how Leicester have been in recent years… but they seem to stop the clock just winding down to 90mins when you’re behind early.

Last season (and the one before), games seemed to go from 60mins to 90mins in no time.

Can't both these teams design their national flags abit different looking 🤷🏽. Senegal weren't even a Belgium colony

They're not that similar?
