Bit soon to write him off and I hope he does do well eventually as I believe we have quite a sell-on percentage.

A move up to Manchester, but then all the way over to south wales is an awful decision on their part for a 17 year-old.

I'd argue that the most consistent prospect we've had recently (still with us) has been Alves -  and he's over come an ACL injury!

Looks as good as I hoped he would do when getting excited 5 years a go.

Or Page. I really like his game.

Yep, for me he looks by far and away our most fancy player

Some of the attitudes towards a 16 year old were also staggering

There’s certain posters on here that absolutely love going after the younger players.

I mean someone said Alves was shit against Doncaster FFS

Having worked with teenage footballers, for a 17 year old to be even anywhere near the first team of a professional club - let alone one that's in a top league - is very impressive.

Most are still trying to get their strength up. I've got some who can run and run but can't do press ups to save their lives and get bullied off the ball by a breeze

If they wanted him to get game time on loan then we should have had him back.

Why would you want to leave him in the shit show that is us.

It sounds like Seagrave is being run better under Martin.

But no one would have known that at the time.

Because it's where his family lives and he was already getting good game time.

Don't get me wrong, I personally wouldn't have been that keen but I would have thought Man City would have thought he'd have been better placed here than Swansea.

Presumably they wanted to test him at a higher level than League One. If they recall him in January it will be interesting to see whether they try to loan him to another Championship club or drop down a division.

I have nothing against Monga and wish him all the best. But I'm very glad that of our two most sought-after academy prospects last season, Monga left and Page stayed. I'd have been gutted if it was the other way around.

Unfortunately his attitude has got worse so he will certainly be going back in January.

Remember when he was left out of our squad last season for no official reason ? Well I’m sure you can fill in the blanks.

Just shows you how important having a good Agent can be as it shouldn’t necessarily be all about money.

Him and his agent secured us a fairly decent transfer fee, when they could have not signed a contract with us and let it go to tribunal where we'd have been paid a pittance tbf

He didn't overly impress last year, some time in Man City U21 would be better for him than 1st team football I reckon.

Should’ve been a good loan move for him with their coaching set-up and style of play…sounds like he hasn’t impressed Matos enough to get game time.

Will probably be at Stockport or Blackpool in Jan.

There's a lot of animosity on twitter from our fans towards him which I still don't really understand

I find that the sort of football fan that feels the need to shout loudly into open spaces like Twitter and Facebook nearly always give the rest of us a bad name, whatever club they support.

We all give FoxesTalk a bit of a self-deprecating dig sometimes but this place is usually pretty restrained compared to "out there", where a lot of the more annoying voices seem to rise above normalcy.

I'd like to hope the vast majority of Leicester fans are grown adults that can appreciate a 16, 17 year old little boy moving on to an absolutely brilliant opportunity to advance his career and live out his dreams isn't something we need to take personally.

You've got to be really, really underdeveloped intellectually and emotionally to be that profoundly upset about a professional footballer leaving your team to go and play for another. Anything short of Jamie Vardy, at the peak of his ability, moving to Forest, scoring a hat-trick against us that relegates us, squatting in front of the Kop, taking a huge shit on the pitch and then lifting his shirt to show "I always hated you and you didn't deserve 2016" tattooed on his chest just wouldn't even get the hint of a boo out of me, frankly.

Further to this, we probably actually really wanted to sell him to get the funds in.

Yeah exactly that. I have a sneaking suspicion, personally, that £10m might turn out to be pretty good business for us with Monga, if I'm honest.

It's way too early to say, I said before that I think he's not yet fully developed physically and I think Man City are taking a gamble on him getting perhaps a bit bigger and - maybe more importantly - faster as he finishes physically maturing. I just don't think he's fast enough to be a leading winger and I never saw any indication that he's creative enough while he's here.

I'll hold my hand up and say I thought Page looked mediocre last year and I didn't quite see why some of you were getting so optimistic about him. But that's been a terrible judgement call on my part, I think he looks superb this year. I've been so, so impressed with his vision, some of his through balls are excellent, I'm absolutely in love with his passing range and the bravery of some of his pick-outs. I also love his surging runs through the park, he's a really complete midfielder.

But I never really saw any evidence in Monga having the same sort of vision or ability to pick a pass despite his claims that he thinks he's a more natural 10 than a winger. It'd certainly offset his pace a little bit if he did have a bit of a Maddison / Bernado Silva / David Silva eye for a pass to go with some similarities to their general athletic profile.

I mean he's still a kid, there's years for him to grow into himself as both an athlete and a footballer but all I really saw in him was an extremely accomplished dribbler and there's just so many of those in the sport?

I dunno. I feel like if he came back in to the side now, I don't feel like he'd be any more dominant in this league than he was last year quite frankly?

Man City just bought him for £10m and he's played about 40 games as a 16 year old. You're talking about a list of maybe 10 players that have done that in England.

We don't have to pretend he's suddenly shit because he doesn't play for us.

Man City have gotten this loan wrong (although there's rumours his fitness has been a concern). He should have stayed in the U21s at Man City because he's still extremely raw and doesn't need to be playing each week. He's got a lot to learn but definitely has all the attributes needed.

I never said he's "shit" did I.

Love how the same people overreact to a little bit of criticism.

He joined Swansea on loan and it's all "see I told you" yet he hasn't played yet.

It’s a gamble isn’t it when you sell someone so highly rated for that as we could be losing out on a lot in the future, and they might waste £10m.

Ultimately it comes down to, was it a good deal for us at the time? Definitely, so don’t look too far into the what could happen.

Was it a good deal for them at the time? Probably also yes, they might have a £50m player on their hands and £10m is small change to them.

If Monga came through whilst we were a side pushing for Europe then £10m would have been laughed at. £10m is a good deal for us because of the situation we are in. It's almost entirely risk free for Man City with genuinely ridiculous potential.

£10m was agreed because our hands are behind our back with a gun to our head. It's not a good deal to sell a player like Monga for such a small amount of money.

In fairness, Swansea have really clicked in to something that's working for them at the moment and in particular Moussa Yeo has been sensational.

I'd consider it pretty harsh to criticise Monga for not being able to get a lot of minutes there, especially given Yeo isn't just playing well with the ball, he's a really important part of their press off it too which Monga just isn't going to do.
