Scots-based millionaire leads ambitious bid to buy Premier League-winning club – and he considered buying RANGERS too

Interesting. Doesn't seem the wealthiest but looks like he'd head up the consortium/be the public face. Surprised he's gone public, although could well be an ulterior motive.

The Indian link is a no-brainer, it was a massive lost opportunity when we won the PL to market us in SE Asia and spread our popularity further but the club weren't equipped and fumbled it, perhaps focusing too much on Thailand.

Neil Lal with an estimated net worth of £2 million...  I know it would be a consortium, but geeeeez. As others have said, probably using us to get his name out there, and nothing more.

As charlie methven said on BSLB you get a lot of tyre kickers.

Only one of the few things he said that was true

Or alternatively building homes for a country with far too few houses?

There is also no designated green belt in Leicestershire.

I don't live in Leicestershire.

Really odd comments.

"We are looking at the Leicester situation and have written to the club for information with regards to the financials. Leicester City FC is a great football club with wonderful fans."

“If things go well and both sides are happy then we plan to build the club and put it right back in the top tier of football."

"India is a country of 1.4 billion people, we look to build bridges with different revenue streams from merchandising and streaming, which will not only increase revenue but will build bridges with new fan base on a global platform."

“These synergies are what is needed. We are also looking for a football venture in Scotland. There shouldn’t be any changes, for example with the strip or the colours."

“In my opinion, the best thing would be to take stock of the situation, and invest in the club for better players and also to increase the revenue. I touched on Asia, such as India, about merchandising and streaming, as well as increasing the fanbase, I think that’s the best way forward."

“The fans, any fans, whether it’s Leicester City football club or Rangers football club or any football club, that’s the heart and soul, and at the end of the day, we need to build the club to where it should be, which is the top tier of football.”

Reeks of someone who doesn't really have much of a plan beyond trying to flog merchandise and streaming rights to India.

I've dealt with a few approaches from Indian businesses and HNWI and culturally they can be a challenge to deal with -  terms change in an instant, prices change with no real reason, ''we agreed on this'' - no we didn't.

I can probably think of 3/4 examples where it went the same way. This isn't some kind of racist slur before anyone jumps on it, just some patterns I've noticed. Give it 10-15 years they will be a real powerhouse, just a bit of catching up needed on how to run in proper processes when acquiring a western business' as they have the low cost infrastructure to complement.
