Agreed by Christmas is do-able, doesn't mean completion will happen before Christmas - I'd eat my hat.

Yep

i think that means a deal agreed by Xmas

if KP want a really quick completion then they’ll have to take a hit on the deal or agree a large amount being withheld until due diligence is able to be completed.

Trouble is the complexities around the conditions that satisfy the money being released can be really complicated and a legal minefield, the best they can hope for is some kind of earn out based on promotions in the future etc

That’s true

if they really need a quick completion because they need the funds then the buyer is in a strong position to markedly reduce the price to reflect the risk.

they can’t have it both ways.

I think the reality is, whoever comes in would need to be someone that is simply taking the club out of enjoyment rather than a good investment. We simply aren’t a good investment no matter how you look at it.

The success required to make your money back, is essentially our perfect scenario… where everything works out the best way possible …. In a landscape where almost every championship club is pushing for investment and driving for the same goal… it really is going to be a lot of hard work and not a simple “we should be there based on history”…. I hope our fans don’t pick up that Leeds attitude that the club should be there because ‘ we belong’.

Any advantage we had from our spell in the premier league has gone, with the last remaining bits being the fruit from the academy bring stripped away at an alarming rate and essentially required to keep us afloat.

we need a group that has investment from someone who wants an ego project/ play thing. We need a snoop dog type figure who simply doesn’t really care if they lose money on the investment because the profile of owning a club is what drives them rather than the money they might get back.

I just can’t see how we can look at Birmingham going for £10m and think someone is going to willingly pay £200m+ for us, while we have debts that would far outweigh what Birmingham had.

If we were to remove the bonus of the training ground (45m (I believe it’s listed),

women’s team, and leuven … we are still asking for $100m+ for a debt ridden club, with very few playing assets remaining.  so for a businessman… would you spin a roulette wheel betting on red, if the return if you get it right is 10% …. Because it feels like the risk vs reward does not sound slightly promising.  The new owner would likely only make profit if we became an established premier league side… and the investment to get there likely means that even then they will be out of pocket

I've been thinking something similar to this, the only type of people this club makes sense to as a purchase would be American celeb types who want to do something similar to Wrexham, where the value to them is the story of the club, in a "rebuild the dream" style where they look to monetise the behind the scenes stuff.

I'd settle for Ramsey's football nightmares, where at least we get an hour a week of Gordon shouting at Rudkin, Glover or Martin for ****ing everything up again lol

Unreal lol

Him slapping two pieces of bread either side of Rudkin’s head: “What are you? A Chief Football Idiot Sandwich? Repeat after me…”

Watching back a Martin 3-0 defeat with 70%+ possession and telling him to throw all his stale tactics in the bin.

Narrator: Jon has served up a half baked transfer window, and Chef Ramsey is not impressed

Gordon: For ****s sake! Look at this *points at Bob* His shots are all completely undercooked! And I've just checked the scoreline and found out the Brussels have been battered!

Wait until Admin, snap up for a fraction of the price, with most of the debt written off...

What debt do we have? I thought it had all been written off as equity.

I do know that talksport reported earlier this week  that there was an American consortium Interested in making a bid but asked for more time to prepare their bid..

Wait until admin and only buy the bits you really want.

I’d want no involvement with OHL and the women’s team, so that alone saves you a few million.

Yes, it’s debt that is covered by payments from transfers and the Premier League. We are basically operating on a reduced income because of it though.

I agree anyone sensible would wait until we go into admin and pick it up cheaper.

But I also don’t think the women’s team and Leuven is the problem. Women’s football is going through growth and would likely be seen as appealing to put some investment into the side given they have been in the WPL for the last few years. And Leuven was a good idea but KP have just completely missed the point of a multi club model by failing to use it. Someone with an ounce of sense would probably see the benefit to it.

Are you saying one of us is going to wake up with two football clubs under our pillow one morning.

I can't believe even KP are stupid enough to let the business run aground into administration. That's only gonna happen if there is nobody at all willing to buy. Then, it ain't administration - it's liquidation.

They'd surely structure a deal with performance bonuses and/or keep the real estate and pre-agree a land buyback with the new owners in years to come.

It’s the Macquarie debt which is essentially being used as a cash advance on money we haven’t yet received, at high interest rates. That still exists as debt.

KP still have plenty of money, It's just that the Family don't want to back Top anymore and who can blame them. Top dug his own grave by backing a loser in Rudkin.

There's many ways a deal can be structured along the lines you say but it really depends on who and why somone purchases us. What we don't want is a negative equity purchase , Where the new owner mortages us to the hilt as collateral after buying us. The only real Assets we have to sell is Belvoir Drive possibly for Housing and the young players. Leveun is not worth very much. And Seagrave though a great future Asset is in negative equity while we continue to pay the loans down.

What we really need is someone who has the money to see the project through to completion, Like Vichai had before that awful accident. But for that I feel we would be in a much better position and likely still in the Premiership.

A lot of if's and but's I know but we just have to hope that we get lucky again with the new Owners

Once again, the value in the club is in what it would cost to build the stadium, training ground and brand, which is why they have the valuation they do.  Yes investment in playing squad is needed, but everything else is in place.  That saves potentially hundreds of millions of investment to create a premier league team.
