Didn't do anything noticeably daft which was refreshing for a left back in a Leicester shirt. Not quite as quick as I was expecting given what had been written up about him when he signed, but he looked really steady

My only comment, and it is more to do with tactics and his instructions than him, but it’d be good to see him overlap like JJ does. I realise this will be to do with the need to ‘invert’…

 

We seem very crowded down the middle as we are playing so high up the field, Braybrooke, Page and Chaplin/Cullen in that space, the wingers cutting in and Reid/Bristvic dropping deep. I feel we’d ask so many more questions if we pulled opponents wide overlapping.

100% tactical. So frustrating that they don't mix this up properly, especially when Burns is the only winger playing his natural side

Yeah same. But I think he's still quick enough and he looks strong/uses his body well so that helps compensate. Decision making very good for a kid who's barely played mens football.

Really like him! Athletic, good in the air, stops crosses, helps build out from the back, a massive upgrade in an area we’ve needed for so long!

Absolutely pivotal that he continues at LB when LT is dropped for either O’Hora or Niemi.

I felt he was a little nervous in his first game was quiet but did fine. That performance was the penny dropping and you could see his confidence grow and he is the starter down that left side by a mile. Thomas has performed admirably but Mcfarlane is the number one on that side by a distance.

Moments of quality but also moments of crap touches and poor control - young lad trying his best - need him for physical presence and height as well - he will be fine when he plays 10 games

He likes to cross the halfway line and pass the ball forwards, Alves likes to move forwards and not send it backwards at every chance. 
 

A massive upgrade on Mav/Thomas.

The other thing I noticed last night was he's inclined to give up when he loses possession, instead of getting back as quickly as possible, but that will come with more games and Coaching.

Absolutely spot on.. he looked timid anf I was a bit worried about him, to the point I actually wanted him hooked... he also looked like he was running through treacle from kick off .. but I guess he was finding his feet

 

Last night he was brilliant, exactly what we have needed in that position since Chilwell had his good season or two

Nah, I just need something tangible to be positive about - Not just blind optimism.

 

I have been extremely positive on here about the current crop of youngsters as well. Alves, Braybrooke and Page are up there with the best prospects I've seen come through at Leicester.
