These are the sort of signings we need, the likes of Watson and McFarlane are players that have great potential and *could* one day be prem players, but time and time again we see prem clubs loan players out but never quite find a spot to bring them back into the first team because maybe they are fighting for survival, at the top end of the table, or maybe just have better players there.

Leicester could potentially if all goes well be a good opportunity for them to get real minutes under the belt this season, if we get promoted may be open to another loan signing next season, or potentially even moving permanently if they feel they won't get the chance needed at their parent clubs.

We are in a bit of a weird place where we can take these players on loan and potentially discover a gem that we can convince to come permanently if we treat them properly and have a manager with a coherent plan.

I can think of a few reasons

You've been back 1 day since your ban and you're already giving off the ora of Roy Chubby Brown live at Blackpool Tower in 1987

Realistically these loan players we have will have to be better than O'Riely? at man city or Mitoma  at Brighton. If that doesn't happen we get a chance to buy them. Like we did with Drinkwater and de laet.

Surprised this is several pages down the forum list.

Thoughts on him so far this season?

I think Alves is still ahead of him in my best XI but I expect him to get more influential as the season goes on.

not scared to take on a man

quick turn of pace

needs to improve end product

Also a far cry reminder from how far we have fallen, getting loan players from Brighton who are decent talents that can't get into their first team

Looks rusty and not up to full speed like Howell, but will improve.

I think the challenge for Alves, Watson and Howell is contributing numbers assists and goals.

Looking decent and having an impact is to different things.

Alves has looked good, but had he really impact a game or a result for example.

He needs to calm down a little. Looks  like he’s trying a little too hard so far imo.

He’ll be good when he gets into his natural flow

Trying too hard is better then what the other players have been doing .. trying too little

Keep going Howell 💪

He'll be better in our more difficult games as his pace and physicality will be more use when we have a bit more room. Howell looks as if he's going to be the one to unlock tight defences

Has a decent shot on him, I think he will score quite a few goals this season. Better than I thought he would be.

So far Alves looks a lot more tricky and creative though.

TBH I think we will end up with Alves as a 10 and Chaplin will play upfront

Just checked his wiki stats and I can’t believe how much his career has seemingly stagnated since his loan here. The Chelsea move was never a good idea but I thought he’d have more of an impact at Leeds.

Obviously been eclipsed by that wonder find James Justin.
