Not sure on loan rules but do we have space for Page to be loaned back?

Would rather agree a fee for the summer but probably too much risk involved in that.

Because the paperwork for said loan back won't go through in time for him to take part in this match day. Just as Riis for example won't be in the squad tonight, it will still count as a player transaction.

Suppose it is deadline day.

Still as I say needs must. Clubs in too much of state to turn it down.

With the loan back I don't think this stage of the window matters as much.  We don't need to replace.

It's the principle though. He has a good season and things pick up for us, then suddenly he's worth a lot more than he is now. Obviously the argument against that is that you're getting the guaranteed money and a free loan out of it but would rather we take the risk.

Would be a good deal all round if this is the case

if we are bringing in midfield cover, can we use the free loan option for a young striker of theirs instead?

Deal doesn't need to be done tonight if we are keeping him for the season. Just sort it whenever to be effective from 01/01/2027. Although hope this doesn't happen and we keep him full stop.

This is a good point.

Anyway I'm going to watch some proper football at Trafford FC as King Power aren't getting another penny out of me, I'll leave you lot to your speculations.

King Power Out.

In my opinion there is no positive spin on this deal. Regardless of what happens now losing page at this stage is self destructive.

Both him and Souttar are in the squad. So neither will be leaving.

He’s an exceptional talent who will go to the very top. Just look at the best teams. They spend fortunes on their midfield 3’s every year. Arsenal currently have 6 who could get into most sides In the world. IMO Page will go on to be worth £100m plus no trouble. I don’t think it would have mattered what league we’re in, perhaps we could have asked for 5-10m more in the champ, who knows. But he was never going to be ours for long regardless of where we are.

Hopefully our new DOF has negotiated a good deal with add ons and a sell on. The loan back would be brilliant business too.

Let's just see. He is a really good talent. Better than Monga IMO.

If we sell him and end up just paying Faes wages it will be a bitter pill.

Please off load the dross first or as well.

You seem pretty certain

I am … but that doesn’t mean it won’t change -

im pretty sure if they decide to lay 15m on the table in the next 5hrs the club will change their mind

The club have no reason to sell. Apparently we don’t need the money, he’s got 3 years left on his contract and is probably best suited to getting as much game time as possible with us.

just typical transfer deadline nonsense

Yup, ordinary I would say fvck him off if he's leaving.

But we are so reliant upon needing promotion this season, and someone like Page could be the difference between it, I would say having him back is worth blocking one of our youth players development for a season.

But we'll see, hopefully he isn't going anywhere this window.

Exactly this, he's needed in the eleven... even if we managed to keep him he'd be off there next summer anyway, so whether we sell and loan back, sell this summer on a pre sale for next summer or he leaves next summer... whichever it is we have him for a year before he properly goes... worst situation is obviously he goes and we dont get him back

This will happen. He’s gone.
