I’m currently in a Sainsbury’s and wandered into this glorious cathedral of a khazi. 
 

Full bed, hoist, privacy screen and bigger than my first flat. 
 

 

 

I think I’m staying for a bit, although I might have to get rid of the custard yellow tiles.

When I was on a night out in leamington years ago. Walked in and there was a sofa, hairdryers big mirrors and it was simply immaculate. Only realised my issue when I held the door open for the women coming in as I was leaving.

Once on a stag do in villamoura and was in the casino, went for a wee and the urinal trough was a clear fish tank.

In the mid 90's I managed an out of town superstore on a retail park in Hull. Mothercare was next door and I used to nip in and chat to their manager about business and stuff.

 

One day I was in their managers office having a coffee and asked if I could use their toilet. On entering the loo I was greeted by these huge neon/flourescent light strips everywhere which felt like I was in a nightclub - it was really odd.

 

When I finished my piss I went back and asked the manager why the bizzare light set up in the bog to which they answered:

 

"It's to make sure when the smack heads come in to shoot up they can't find a vein in that light so they leave"

 

Nice.

I worked at William Hill at the top of London road. The toilets in there were seriously grim. You could find any drug in there you wanted, and that was just the staff toilets

I went to a wake at a really posh golf club in Edinburgh last year and they had the cleanest, nicest, sweetest-smelling crapper I've ever been in.  Immaculately grouted tiles and dark wood panelling and heavy doors to the cubicles.  Lots of space, well heated, but also ventilated.  

 

That toilet scene in Trainspotting is set in a bookie's bog, also in Edinburgh.

 

As such, it's fair to conclude that Edinburgh is a city of contrasts.

It's changed a few times since, but there used to be a bar called Brannigans / Barringtons (?) on New Walk — it became the White Peacock and now Sonrisa. Can't vouch for them now as different vibe and this was 15 years ago, but **** me. You could eat your dinner out the toilet bowl, I felt like I was in Made In Chelsea

Very futuristic one by Brixen station in South Tyrol. Loads of buttons, pulleys, sliding door etc. I don't speak much German and my Italian, while good, doesn't extend to toilet instructions. I reached behind me to flush away my business but must have pulled the wrong thing and the emergency alarm went off, the door slammed open, and I was exposed to a load of Tyrolean commuters and tourists looking on at me in disgust. Important to point out this was the morning of Brexit which felt somewhat appropriate.

That's called a Changing Places toilet https://www.changing-places.org/

They're typically for people who have full time care and can't use the loo/change on their own. They are a requirement of any new build public building and the minimum recommended size is 3 x 4m.

The beds are typically powered and can move up and down, sometimes they have sinks which do this as well.

I find the bogs at National Trust places generally above average, mainly because you get a better class of people using them.
