Popular Post OadbyBlue Posted 25 August Popular Post Posted 25 August Page needs to be in the team, looked levels above tonight.  I’d agree with OP’s lineup 100% 6

CleudoG Posted 25 August Posted 25 August Not Souttar, felt much better with Chaplin as captain. Think Aluko out injured though so maybe have to play him - keep the arm band with Chaplin if so. Would try to give Bristric 90 mins. 3

TrentFox Posted 26 August Posted 26 August Slight variation on a popular theme… Stol is pants, but a better shotstopper than MacCarthy. MacFarlane is a poor fullback presently, (passing was wretched- but that seems to be a prerequisite for a CB in our teams), but I liked his strength and physicality. I’d throw him in at left CB. If Woyo is still here, he looks a better bet at fullback than anyone else - just hope he could transfer it to the left.            Stolarczyk  Joseph   Aluko  McFarlane   Woyo             Braybrooke              Page    Chaplin Howell                    Alves                  BristricÂ
Corbee Posted 26 August Posted 26 August Another defeat inbound  3-1 to MK  Genuinely concerned about the defence. There are just a few days of window left with Okoli, Soutter and Faes all wanting out.  Gray nowhere to be seen in squad at present. Will get bullied in League one playing Aluko and Thomas in Centre back positions.  Also new no. 9 makes some decent runs but so far looks miles off with poor touches.Â

Think we might have a Mark Davies situation from last time in league one where the guy is miles ahead of the level. Dribbling for sure he looks levels above, but fitness wise and off the ball didn’t look so fantastic. Chaplin was giving him an earful at times (which is great to see btw) 2
LVFox Posted 26 August Posted 26 August          McCarthy Joseph Aluko Souttar McFarlane     Braybrooke.  Page Burns.     Chaplin.   Alves           Bristric  Howell looked good but not quite sure of his fitness or defensive work yet - Burns a better pick for this match at this stage.   4
Claudio Fannieri Posted 26 August Posted 26 August Stolarcryk  JJ Bade New Finnish lad McFarlane  Page Braybrooke Chaplin  Howell Bristic Alves  Subs McCarthy Thomas Gray Cullen Burns Watson Hutchinson   1

Dippy Posted 26 August Posted 26 August This may well bite me in the backside but I’m excited for your visit this weekend. Our style now is more akin to every team in league one that ever gave us a lot of trouble when Russ was our gaffer, and having a look at some of the goals Leicester have conceded, I’d put money on Sam Nombe to have a great game in the press.  But we also historically haven’t done overly well when the away side bring 5k+ so honestly, I’m hoping that form holds out and you are all more interested in Russell Martin than getting behind the team.Â

We are that bad.
lcfc sheff Posted 26 August Posted 26 August We need to be creating proper strong chances at goal, I want plenty of goals
trooky Posted 26 August Posted 26 August IMO, He has to start the majority of the same team.  Only changes I would make would be Alves for Watson and JJ for Coulibaly.  Thomas isn't a great CB option but he's better on the ball than Souttar, a bit quicker and also looks like he wants to be here.  I can't believe we've turned down money for him, he needs binning along with Faes and Okoli. 3
LCFCJohn Posted 26 August Posted 26 August Another 2-1 defeat seems the most likely outcome here. Â Last season and this, people focus on the need for a striker and rightly so, but our failings have been more, in my opinion, down to the state of the defence. Pretty much all the business we have done, McFarlane and Bristvic aside have been attacking midfielders, yet we still are incredibly weak at both ends of the field. Â This might be addressed with the rest of the window but as far as this game on Saturday goes, we will still likely ship at least 2.
Popular Post Sol thewall Bamba Posted 26 August Popular Post Posted 26 August I can get behind this:  Stol JJ Aluko Kangasiemi McFarlane Braybrooke Page Alves Chaplin Watson Bristric  This would have me genuinely interested again even with Martin in charge. 7
Simonb Posted 26 August Posted 26 August Absolutely needs to be a couple of early goals for us so we can settle the nerves a bit and actually then take control of a game .. otherwise itll just be the same odd bag of nerves scared of whose going to make the mistake that leads to the inevitable. Plus im hoping for a good atmosphere so a positive starts needed. 1-3 to us Bristric to get his first goal for us 1
County Fox Posted 26 August Posted 26 August I am optimistic about this weekend. I doubt we will keep a clean sheet but, having watched the MK Dons highlights against Huddersfield, they will also give up chances for us.  Fingers crossed for a 3-1 win, with a really good away end playing their part in boosting the team. 1
