There was a film on BBC2 last night after the World Cup programme. Buried. A bit weird.An American truck drive kidnapped in Iraq and buried in a coffin.  I found it amusing in parts. He got through to the FB! on a mobile, then they asked for his social security number and other details. Best bit was when his company's legal dept called him and said because they believed he had been intimate with a work colleague it broke the contract he signed so he no longer worked for them and if he died they were not responsible for what happened to him.

Imitation Game was on Chan 4 last night,true story about Alan Turing who invented the machine that cracked the Enigma code 8/10

Watched The Secret Life of Pets last night, cracking animated film. 8/10.

I'll go against the grain.  The new Trek film is excellent.  

 

Unless you're over 30 though, you won't appreciate the subtle nice touches.

 

Of the rebooted films, the best of the three.  Compared to all of what has come before, it sits behind The Wrath of Khan, The Voyage Home and First Contact imo.

Just got back from seeing suicide squad. Enjoyable but feel a lot was left on the cutting room floor. Felt disjointed and has story arcs and developments that spring from nowhere. Harley Quinn is so annoying and corny, but Margot Robbie deserves a pass imo. This film could and should have been so much better

Agree could of been so much better! Too much desdshot not enough joker!

 

dont agree about Margot Robbie though thought she was the best in it! And she's a worldie!

Yeah i don't think Harley was necessarily a bad character, just personally i found her quite grating. And you're dead on about Deadshot... Such a stereotypical storyline he had, yet because it's Will Smith they make him basically the main character. DC don't know how to balance screen time like marvel do. Apparently there was a hefty amount of studio intervention also which is never a good thing. Such a shame... Still excited to see where they could take this from here though

There was too much joker tbh, particularly given he didn't really add much. Other than that it's a pretty good film.

Just got back from seeing Harley Quinn, the movie myself, thought it was good, and there was just enough joker in it, thought it funny they spent the first half of the movie playing capture the flag

Independents' Day (not a typo).  Can't recommend this film enough:  Without ruining it I was expecting a shitty B-movie ripoff of Independence Day but honestly bar the low-budget SFX this is the film it could have been if it actually had decent acting, dialogue and a plot that makes sense (as much as an alien invasion movie can make sense anyway).  Mind blown.  A must watch.  Iol jk it's like watching a porno with the sex scenes edited out.

How does it compare to the Shallows, which I have watched and I thought was a 7 possibly nearer 8/10.

Not seen The Shallows yet but some have said that this is better,if you liked Deep Blue Sea etc then you'll like this
