Nixon is turning us around in this format and in the right way.

Parkinson, Griffiths and Davies bowled beautifully.

Swindells batted really well.

Its all developing youth.

Nottinghamshire‘s team average over the age of 30. It’s being talked of as a Dads Army when actually it’s a dereliction if duty.

Yeah but if our youngsters develop well, Notts will just sweep in take them. They don't even need to develop their own players any more.

Feels like Bournemouth again lol

Ha I was going to go for Kermogant pen level on the LCFC misery scale to be honest.

There’s a lot of positives from this season and it’s great to have a team that scraps and is competitive more often than not again. A number of players have improved including some I thought wouldn’t be good enough going forward but have done a job. Fair play to Nixon and the coaching staff.

The cricket press are finally taking notice of the way teams like Notts and Hants do their business, hence the recent praise about how Essex and Somerset do theirs and have risen to the top.

No reason why we can’t do the same given time.

It was Essex who we beat to break the famous losing streak 4 seasons ago and look what’s happened to the, since..

This year has been a step forwards.

The disgusting ECB read cricket so wrong. They don't understand the supporters. They just think new cricket fans are 'families' or those fackin lower middle class bozos in their 30s and 40s who go to England matches and dress up as Spiderman or wear a sombrero.

Counties like county aren't viable, the ECB bails us out and return, the ECB feels it has the right to destroy us. A slow insidious poison to kill us off and the create a super League of the test grounds. Total bollox. That's not English cricket

County cricket is, unknown to them, at its best at taunton. At the Scarborough festival. Marquees at Arundel. Picnics, sunny Sundays and booze at chesterfield. Rowdy Friday night matches at grace road. Nightmare NatWest game away at a minor county at Jesmond. Kids playing in the nets and on the outfield at tea. Heckling touring international teams on the outfield then, as I did, stood in the Meet bookies an hour later with Mark Waugh watching the nags.

So very disappointing, the Lilley misfield

was huge as was his 1 over, he had a poor game.

We deserved to win that, umpires were 💩 proud of the team though

Certain individuals stepped up but some didn't. Can't be proud of the team for throwing it away like that. Lilley and Klein won't be sleeping well tonight. Gutting way to lose.

Good write-up however no mention of the worst lbw call ever in our innings and two incorrect lbw decisions in their innings.

This ridiculous power play decider wouldn't have been needed.

Swindells doing the business with the bat when it mattered. Begs the question why we've been messing about with Rhodes and Dearden.

It's a real shame about the 2 misfields but I think we have every right to point at 3 disgraceful umpiring decisions too. The 2 Notts LBWs were stonewall and at a time where we were really turning the screw.

Looking forward to next season now, some good young talent in there, I just hope we can hold on to them.

Ackermann, Swindells, Griffiths, Davis, Parkinson, Welch- the nucleus of a decent side there. Add in a couple of quality overseas players and a canny signing here and there and we've enough to be competitive.

We lost to a team full of internationals and serious experience on a technicality- we've made huge progress this season.

I’m confused, I woke this morning to check the results and BBC has it as a tie both team 139/7 is this a mistake?

Why no super over if it was correct?

Because in their wisdom the ECB decided that a tie breaker should be the most runs scored in the power play....

If you needed any further proof that the ECB have zero brains, there’s a high chance tomorrow’s 20Twenty Finals Day is decided in a bowl out inside Edgbaston’s indoor school

Do you think Notts will bring Broad in if it's a bowl out?

It is a stupid rule but we'd never have won a super over. The players would never have been able to lift themselves after what happened. Plus Notts have far bigger hitters than us. Our biggest hitter is arguably Aaron Lilley and his confidence would've been shot after the day he had.
