That's...well, it's horrendous.

Goodness only knows how she didn't go down for manslaughter there because it fully fits that description.

Quite.

Quote

What was the basis of bringing a murder charge in this extraordinary case? The answer lies in the way the law of murder applies the concept of causation.

If an accused person attacks a victim, intending to kill or cause serious harm, their actions alone may not result in death.

However, they can be convicted of murder if their acts can fairly be said to have made a "significant" contribution to the victim's death.

Throwing the acid there would mean there was a "significant" contribution. :dunno:

Yeah. I'm no legal eagle, but I thought that murder could only be applied if clear and obvious premeditation and intent to kill were shown. I'm not sure she intended to kill him, but apparently just make him wish he was dead (ugh).

However, directly causing such injury without proven lethal intent that a person then chooses to take their own life fits squarely under manslaughter IMO.

Thats good for him if thats how he feels. I can respect that as well. To each their own. And to put on record i dont side with the indian government and their treatment of sikhs in the 80s and since/before etc. same can be said for those indians who incited hate against our community.

We all live in different countries and are a product of that country too. Might be sikh but im also a proud canadian and somewhat englander lol. Im also proud of the good natured indians who respect human rights and common decency for all and treat sikhs as their own friends and citizens.

Most people are either pro khalistan or cant be asked. To me im happy either way so long as there is respect which will  always be a tough  sell in a hindu majority  india we both know that.

I'm a bit late to the table for the acid attack discussion but it truly is an abominable crime. It seems to be too easy to carry them out, almost as if people don't realise the harm they're going to cause. The supply of these caustic chemicals needs to be severely limited, probably to permit only (I couldn't give two shiny shites what effect this might have on trade and the economy), certainly you shouldn't be able to buy them off ****ing Amazon. And the crime should carry the severest penalties, that bitch should be in prison for life whether the poor man died or not. It goes beyond assault, it's assault designed not to cause merely immediate harm but designed to irreversibly maim the victim and change their life forever, there is absolutely no justification and it's almost always a calculated, pre-meditated decision. It falls into torture for me, it's physical and psychological torture and the person who commits the crime should have their freedom permanently revoked.

It's certainly a couple of degrees higher than assault or even GBH on account of the effects being deliberately designed to be visible for the rest of the life of the victim, so yeah - I think it should carry a much higher penalty than other violent offences of similar type too.

I think this belongs in the 'Not exactly a cvnt but still a bit of a twat' thread.

What defines an absolute c*nt is subjective, of course - that could have a thread all to itself.

A lot of the stuff in this thread is about people doing terrible, terrible things that are often beyond our comprehension. As often as not though it's people that are pretty damaged themselves.

Personally I seem to find myself reserving the c*nt status for those that might actually be bothered by it, and weirdly, I get more irate about the little acts of twattery that blight our lives than the more extreme things that make the news.

That woman that drove her car (slowly, admittedly) into the half marathon in Plymouth - to me, that's what being a c*nt is all about.

Am I over thinking this? YES I AM. I'm a proper c*nt!

Grenfell Tower fire: Two admit £125,000 relief fraud

Two illegal immigrants have admitted claiming more than £125,000 in relief costs by falsely posing as victims of the Grenfell Tower fire.

Elaine Douglas and Tommy Brooks were put up in hotels after claiming they lived on the 19th floor of the block.

They were caught when council workers discovered their flat did not exist, Isleworth Crown Court heard.

The pair, both aged 51, pleaded guilty to two counts of fraud by false representation.

They also admitted one count of obtaining leave to remain in the UK by deception.

The court heard the two Jamaican nationals, of no fixed address, were put up in hotels for almost a year and handed pre-paid credit and travel cards, all paid for by the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.

Douglas and Brooks were also both housed in the Radisson Blu hotel in Kensington.

Douglas claimed a total £67,123.35 of relief intended for victims of the fire. She spent 276 nights in the Radisson Blu in Kensington, costing the council over £55,000.

The 51-year-old also spent more than £11,000 on a pre-paid credit card she was given when she complained about the hotel's food.

Brooks claimed £58,396.89 of relief and stayed in the Radisson Blu and another hotel for 243 nights. He also spent over £9,000 of charges on a credit card.

Prosecutor Benjamin Holt told the court the pair "claimed to have been together in the fire".

"Both said they were residing in flat 91 on the 19th floor - flat 91 is actually on the 12th floor."

The court heard Brooks and Douglas had managed to avoid immigration authorities for 16 years after entering the UK illegally in the early 2000s.

Mr Holt said they had tried to take advantage of a government policy introduced to allow those with insecure immigration status who had lost their homes in the fire to remain in the country for at least five years.

The pair were remanded in custody until sentencing on 13 June.

Fair but the head's not even the good part it's all beak and eyeball.  Man is clearly not a gourmand.

In all seriousness it's nothing but twattery.  Pure psycho behaviour, next he'll be cutting up kids.

Not sure what's worse, the policemen beating the shit out of a twenty year old girl because they thought she'd had a drink on a beach or the mayor claiming she got what she deserved and the officers were doing their jobs.

They shouldn't just be sacked, they should be imprisoned themselves for assault. That's ****ing vile.

Just watched the whole chest cam footage and it just escalates from her doing a breathalyser one minute to them deciding to arrest and beat the crap out of her the next.

It literally watches like an uneducated bully being embarrassed at being proven wrong and getting violent. Sick.

Sums up a big proportion of US cops tbh.

But there will always be those who defend them no matter what they do.

Just really made me angry watching it.

I mean even if she's done what he thinks she has, that's being twenty and having a beer. How many of us DIDN'T have a cheeky underage drink with our mates?

Cvnt tackles her to the ground and punches her in the face for it. Even before that all she's actually doing is backing away clearly scared ffs.

I don't really blame her, he was just needlessly accusing and intimidating from the off.

Probably the sort of awkward "nice guy" neckbeard that resents young girls he could never get near when he was her age. Dickhead.
