artursteppe Posted 6 August 2015 Posted 6 August 2015 Maybe someone could accumulate a list of all the arsehole 'in the know' pundits condemning us to oblivion because Claudio Ranieri is our manager. Ray Parlour, HITC, Gary Linekar, 'Arry Redknap, Steve Savage and whoever else has shouted their gobs off. Hopefully at the end of the season we could somehow publish an open letter telling the world what a bunch of imbeciles they all are, and in future keep their negative comments to themselves and shove them up their own arses.
SecretPro Posted 6 August 2015 Posted 6 August 2015 Looking at the facts: They tipped us to be relegated last year. We were not relegated. They know nothing. End of argument.

Ric Flair Posted 6 August 2015 Posted 6 August 2015 Keep it coming lads, team talks are being written for themselves. Brilliant.
ScouseFox Posted 6 August 2015 Posted 6 August 2015 Hahahahahaaaa I love it, they may all be right but their reasoning is quite scandalous. I'm baffled why a lot of the media have such a poor opinion of Ranieri, was he particularly bad with the press whilst at Chelsea? It seems bizarre as he comes across very approachable and his record is just above average everywhere he's been really at club level, maybe the odd failure but not as bad as some managers who get bum sniffed all the while. yeah i don't understand this either, the whole "antipearson" thing seemed to me to be partly based on the fact he seems like he'd give anyone an interview about anything and smile all the way through. and even if you piss him off he'd still give you a story. ie; surely a press dream? yet they all seem to unanimously dislike him and want him to fail.
lgfualol Posted 6 August 2015 Posted 6 August 2015 Chrissy P retired years ago, and left us a good while back - do you mean Nick? Or Chris Wood? Oh yea Nick Powell.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 6 August 2015 Posted 6 August 2015 Looking at the facts: They tipped us to be relegated last year. We were not relegated. They know nothing. End of argument. To be fair, last season purely for the fact that we were a newly promoted team it was fair to predict us to drop back down (even though many had Burnley and QPR as doing well, despite us being way ahead of both in the promotion season) This season, we've got a strengthened team who now have the added bonus of having a year's experience in the league. We've got Huth from the start who obviously bolstered our defence significantly from joining on loan, way better striking options from the get-go... absolutely baffles me that that almost every pundit has us down for 19th or 20th place finish. There are easily 3 clubs worse than us Hell I'm going to stick my neck out now and say 12th place finish, 2 points off finishing top half. Tough to predict the relegated spots as I don't think there'll be too much difference in the bottom 6, I'd go with Bournemouth, Norwich, Villa. Reasons being as follows - Villa are shit and barely survived last season, Benteke and Delph going is surely going to harm them. - Norwich because I don't like Delia Smith. - Bournemouth remind me too much of Burnley last season. Little old fashioned club who have overachieved in a modern day fairy tale to get to where they have. Will play their hearts out and fail.
Legend_in_blue Posted 6 August 2015 Posted 6 August 2015 Just get used to the criticism people. We had all this under MON, nothing changes. They don't want to see us doing well and certainly won't acknowledge us when we are doing well, it's how it is.
Max Power Posted 6 August 2015 Posted 6 August 2015 I love being written off. Adds an extra little bit of satisfaction when we succeed.

Les-TA-Jon Posted 6 August 2015 Posted 6 August 2015 The logic of these pundits is a bit strange to say the least. - We absolutely destroy the Championship playing attractive, direct and effective football - unanimously tipped for relegation. - We struggle for large parts of the season - unanimously tipped for relegation - We pull off the great escape and finish 14th in PL and then add to the squad, only losing Cambiasso - unanimously tipped for relegation Bournemouth meanwhile... - Finish top with 90 pts, playing attractive football - unanimously tipped to stay up and be the 'surprise package' of the season - Sign Gradel, Tomlin, Distin, Costa, Mings, and...? - unanimously tipped to stay up and be the 'surprise package' of the season
Tuna Posted 6 August 2015 Posted 6 August 2015 Bournemouth piss me off. Perma-smile Howe pisses me off. Their russian moneybags benefactor pisses me off. The media cock sucking of Bournemouth pisses me off. I'll be even more pissed off with them when they paste us 4-0 in a few weeks time. Hope they **** off back down the leagues with their rabbitt hutch ground.
stox259 Posted 6 August 2015 Posted 6 August 2015 (edited) Makes me smile how many criticise others for putting our team down when so many of our own fans were much more critical last season when we were bottom of the league. It's their job and really matters not what they think or say at this stage. However, it can be a lot more damaging when our own fans are ringing in phone ins and writing on the web criticising the team based on as much logic as these 'pundits' are using now. sdb Posted 6 August 2015 Posted 6 August 2015 You lot need to calm down. No one dislikes CR or actively wants us to fail. They're objectively saying they think we'll struggle - not surprising given the off season we've had. Let's hope we prove them wrong!
Stadt Posted 6 August 2015 Posted 6 August 2015 It's like we only had Pearson and Cambiasso for the last 9 games.
kingcarr21 Posted 6 August 2015 Posted 6 August 2015 I still believe we wont miss Cambiasso as much as people think. I fancy Kante and King to absolutely boss the midfield with Kramaric becoming a star player. I can see it now our away fans screaming out the KKK are coming. hmmmm maybe not
Sunbury Fox Posted 6 August 2015 Posted 6 August 2015 I'm shocked that so many pundits have predicted us to go down. Yes losing Nige and Cambiasso is a blow but the squad looks much stronger overall. Astonishing that more aren't predicting Villa to go down - they've lost their best 3 players including their almost sole source of goals. And yet the media think they'll finish around halfway cos they have Tactics Tim as manager, who for no obvious reason they seem to love. Would def rather have Ranieri over Sherwood myself. Anyway, we always do best when we're written off!

Dan Posted 6 August 2015 Posted 6 August 2015 He's probably got better resources available to him to reach his objective than he's ever had before. We're trying to stay up, not win the league. Utterly irrelevant and completely brainless comment. Where do these people get off making statements like this? What the hell is this based on? Even those with the gravest of grave reservations about Ranieri would concede that the only one of his last five jobs to have been an abject failure is Greece. Monaco was an overwhelming success. Irrespective of the money, taking a newly promoted side to the Champions League is an impressive achievement. We've seen with Manchester City and also with every Chelsea manager bar Mourinho and Ancelotti (yes, Ranieri included) how difficult it is to piece together a side at short notice even with a lot of money and turn them into a competitive force immediately. Inter wasn't great but wasn't a total disaster either. He picked up a side bottom of the league and badly struggling, stabilised them and then he was bombed out after a poor run with the team nowhere near relegation. Think first season Sven at Leicester. Roma was a big success. Took a team which had finished 6th the season before he arrived to the Coppa Italia final and to within a whisker of just their 4th ever Scudetto. Second season was less good, with Roma 8th when he left in February. I think if he did the equivalent at Leicester (improved our position by 4 places in season 1, but left with us in 16th next year, we'd have to say he'd done a very good job. Juventus was also a big success. Took a newly promoted side to the Champions League (3rd) in his first season and then 2nd in the second season. I don't understand why people can't just spend 5 minutes reading about somebody before they write them off. People see Roma, Juve and Monaco on the CV, realise he hasn't won a league or Champions League and all of a sudden he's a failure. Nothing could be further from the truth. As I've said before, he might well be shit here, but throwing his CV at him as some sort of justification for that opinion is absolutely bonkers. It just doesn't stack up at all. There's a lot of other rubbish in there (how can a journalist think "would of" is correct for god's sake?) but I don't have time for it. Lovely assessment and this is coming from someone who's not convinced by the appointment. Journalism in this country is an absolute embarrassment by and large.
Babylon Posted 6 August 2015 Posted 6 August 2015 surely a press dream? yet they all seem to unanimously dislike him and want him to fail. Most of the press who have dealt with him say he's lovely, absolutely no hate there. But he's viewed a joke in this country for whatever reason. Perhaps his lack of English when he first arrived, or "Tinker" nickname. It certainly had nothing to do with what Chelsea did on the pitch as he couldn't be viewed anything other than a success. There are a couple of blemishes on his record, the Greece job was a mistake. Is he any worse than Flores whose recent history is. 2011–2013 Al-Ahli 2013–2014 Al-Ain 2015 Getafe As i said earlier in this thread, if we're being judged fairly with the same criteria I have no problem. But for people to moan about Ranieri or some unproven signings... and then predict Watford to stay up. Well it's just bull shit.
Ric Flair Posted 6 August 2015 Posted 6 August 2015 Not looking forward to every pundit, journo and commentator going OMG LOOOL THE TINKERMAN SO MUCH TINKERING every time we make a sub. It'll be amusing if he makes changes that win us games and they completely ignore it, can't bring themselves to acknowledge what he's done. It's a good job he's a tinkerman as I fail to see how he'll keep 5 strikers happy.
