Enjoyed this one on Derby's forum...

I don't understand why you are supporting Leicester, am I missing something, if I was thinking about this in a business sense I am losing stock value by having both Leicester and forest outperforming my own team.

I don't want to tempt fate but I suspect we might just outperform them regardless.

"and they've done all this after losing their player of the season"

barely even seen that mentioned. good point. we were rubbish last year and lost one of the only positive things on the pitch and then lost the manager who'd finally turned it around. when you think about how badly this season should really have gone it just makes it even funnier that we're going to win the league.

I take it it was you who got the unbelievably snippy response in the Mailbox today?

If you don't want your editorial position questioned don't have an open forum for people to write to about it!

They published that one did they?  Haaaa no doubt sounds like a bitter Leicester fan without the context of my more measured attempts to provide an alternative view :D

Edit: Ok I caved and had a look, yep that's my mail.  I like the way they framed it as if to say "see, we do let everyone have a fair say".  Good job F365 lol

I read that Barcelona are weighing up a 15 million bid for Mahrez. Outrageous. If Sterling was sold for 50 million then Mahrez must be worth that at a minimum. I'd personally be holding out for 60 million for him in the summer to be honest.

Lets just say we do win the league (still don't believe I'm saying that), and that Mahrez wins player of the year. Doing it with vastly better stats than Hazard who won it last year, a player who cost £25m and would have only been sold for about double that last summer... You just do not buy those players cheaply. Especially In a year where champions league money has gone up and the premier league money is going up.

We'd have been utterly mugged if we even went to the negotiating table with a first offer of less than £35m. If he played for any other team doing what we're doing, he would be getting valued in the £40-£50m bracket easily.

He's not just another one of those pacy wingers with a modicum of skill (Sterling etc). He's in a fairly small and unique group who have exceptional skill beyond most others. There are few who can do the things that he does and you have to pay a premium for unique talents.

His first touch when he takes long crossfield passes out of the air are jaw dropping and he does it at least once a game. Totally kills defenders. Never forget that nutmeg (against Chelsea?) where he took two touches to put it through the defenders legs and he does it that quick you barely even see the second touch on slo mo. Amazing to have the opportunity to watch such a skillful player wearing the blue shirt.

As a follow up to this I've checked the next mailbox (because how could I not want to see the inevitable responses) and I notice they've published 2 responses from our fans basically sucking up to the website and I'm apparently now the epitome of a whingeing big club fan.  Now everyone on that site's either going to think we're all "paranoid Primadonna" like me or else spineless suck ups who, at the risk of opening a can of worms, genuinely believe Vardy's a racist...

This did not go to plan.  Sorry lads.

Apparently everyone in the pubs across Lusaka was supporting us!

Same down here in Cape Town! Was in the pub (an Arsenal bar - shirts around the walls, disgusting) for their Man Utd defeat and after I told someone I was a Leicester fan and was cheering on Man Utd people were shaking my hand, saying we've been amazing and that they hope we can do it.

Verratti and Kante.

From an Arsenal "who will win the title" thread:

We're not winning it this year and that was pretty easy to determine a couple of months back. When we were pubbing shitty wins but putting in dire performances it was easy to figure the randomness of it all would eventually turn against us an expose us. It was always about the performances, never about the results. All the excuses after those shit performances - good draw, that's a hard place to go to - they are our bogey team - it's the mark of a champion to win when playing shit. And so on. Yes, it's the mark of a champion to pub the odd result, but champions eventually leave the pub. We never did. A couple of times against Bayern and Utd. Even in the Utd game it was horrible to watch us slack off in that second half. The spray can was out ready to write on the wall, even during that game. In fact opening a brand new season and failing to turn up, that told us everything about Wenger and what was likely to unfold. But it's hard to say we're done on the opening day of a season - there's still such a long way to go and anything can happen.

But know this - with Wenger there is only one outcome. Poverty on the pitch and riches in the boardroom. That's his job. That's what he's here for and that's why he'll be staying despite this latest collapse.

Leicester were always winning it. You can tell when a team is in control of its own destiny. You can spot it. These are players committed to a clearly defined cause - winning. Marshalled by a manger who has one focus - winning. You can tell them they aren't good enough, you can talk about fairy tales, you can do all that but they keep their focus. No mercenaries, no prima donnas, 18 guys doing the business on the pitch being directed by one guy who knows what's important. Who even owns Leicester? We don't hear about it? It's not about them, it's about the team. Imagine that.

Leicester won't just win this - they'll walk it. I figure if we can drag ourselves out of this new Wenger low we might get 70 points. Think about how many games Leicester will have to lose for use to be anywhere near come May.

Meanwhile we better watch out for West Ham because there's another committed team behind a man who knows what he wants and what it takes to get it.

And...

Yeah I think it will end up like that and in that order. Leicester are machine like, every test thrown at them and they have overcome it, even when they do lose which is very rarely they come back and go on a run again.

They are massive favorites for me now for the title, it sounds crazy but I just can't see them blowing it. I think they'll win it by more than 5 points too.

For all the scoffing I've done at them with the players they have in their team, they have a system, a system that works and is highly effective. Fair play to them, they deserve to be champions.
