lgfualol Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 So, of our six changes... In; Wood - £1m? HUGE SPENDERS. That's a lot of money for those people.
Number 6 Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Should we have a whip round for Burnley? I've got a copper jar I'll probably never cash in...
foxes_rule1978 Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 (edited) So we can't cope if we had our main players out? Really a point against a side better than most in this league away says otherwise . Just face facts we are bloody good Edited 1 April 2014 by foxes_rule1978
Sharpe's Fox Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Poor 'ickle Burnley with their 'ickle squad and their 'ickle wallet. You wouldn't think they were 10 points ahead of third would you?
Narborough_fox Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Hammond was a free. Thought he was. Just had £500k in the back of my mind somewhere. Changed.
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Thought he was. Just had £500k in the back of my mind somewhere. Changed. It was an undisclosed fee I thought?
fatboytim Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Who cares how much or how little we've spent? It's fair to say we've done ok (ish) this season with a relatively small squad. We probably haven't spent as much as some clubs and probably have spent more than others. Transfer fees don't take into account players wages either. So to argue we've only spent 50p on transfers this season doesn't really mean much if all our players are on 50 million quid a year. Probably fair to say we've spent less this season than we did under Sven but, for me, the only thing that matters isn't what other commentators say about us or our transfer policy, but getting promoted. Everything else is just background noise
MC Prussian Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 But despite this frantic cost cutting, you are still dead against FFP?Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm - double-checking facts isn't strong with this one. http://boards.footymad.net/forum.php?tno=104&fid=297&sty=2&act=1&mid=2111353736
Agent Fox Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 That's it, I'm going on record and saying I hope they feck it. Sean and his poor kids can do one.
Out Foxed Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 absolutely bizarre comment BTL on the guardian As a Bournemouth ticket holder, I'd say the best teams that have visited Dean Court so far this season have been Leicester and Derby. Can't say any others have looked particularly brilliant. Most who are in and around the play-offs will seriously struggle if they go up. Even Leicester will be coming straight back down, as they scored a debatable 'was-it-over-the-line?' goal through veteran Kevin Phillips. http://www.theguardian.com/football/football-league-blog/2014/mar/29/football-league-championship#start-of-comments
Stinkenzo Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 The more Burnley talk the more I wouldn't mind them being caught. The only reason i'd want Burnley to go up will be so that there will only be 2 relegation places to avoid next season.
Babylon Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 Bravo Finners. Love how they are all preachy about wages and debt... one look at their accounts and their wages are £15m and they lost £7m last year. 1
MC Prussian Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 It really is staggering how little they know about finances and still banging on about us being "big spenders", when in fact, most debts that we had, have been written off thanks to the owners' generosity. Even more staggering that they're arguing from a corner when they've recorded heavy losses as well, plus owning a rather expensive squad, too.
lgfualol Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 (edited) Nice comments on my reddit post, some championship fans are bitter about it hehehe Edited 2 April 2014 by lgfualol
HEGGSY Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 Hammond was a free.Hammond was definitely an "undisclosed fee"I'm sure I've seen 800k touted somewhere.
Soar Fox Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 The longer the season has gone on the more I've become fed up with Sean Dyche and a lot of the Burnley fans. I wouldn't mind Derby coming up instead of them.
Popular Post Dan Posted 2 April 2014 Popular Post Posted 2 April 2014 A lot of the Burnley (and others) comments are just a sign of the times - the times being that everyone looks for an excuse to dislike a team and once they find that excuse, that is stuck with them for years. I find that impossible to dispute. Another comment that annoys me is this "they'll go straight back down" nonsense. OK, lets look at the last 3 seasons in the Premier League, of the 9 clubs to go up, only 2 of them have gone back down in the first season, they were Burnley (irony) & Reading. The other 7 all stayed up. What exactly are people basing this "straight back down" on? The bottom half of the Premier League being strong ()? The sides going up being weak (though better than their own side)? The answer is absolutely ****ing nothing. What an embarrassing cliche. 5
johnny the fox Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 The idea you can properly compete in the championship, let alone the premier league on a shoe string is laughable. I bet if a deluded billionaire took over burnley by some fluke, im sure all these bitter fans would be out side turfmoor demonstrating against it. yeah right.
Simo86 Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 Hammond was definitely an "undisclosed fee" I'm sure I've seen 800k touted somewhere. I have nominal fee in my head for some reason
Fox92 Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 http://boards.footymad.net/forum.php?tno=104&fid=297&sty=2&act=1&mid=2111353736 Getting bored of Burnley. I'd actually agree to 'big spending Leicester' if Nige actually spent cash. Think they're getting confused between Nige and Sven again. And the comments about Nige smiling are funny, as though Dyche has a great personality when in front of the cameras.
BoneDog Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 The longer the season has gone on the more I've become fed up with Sean Dyche and a lot of the Burnley fans. I wouldn't mind Derby coming up instead of them. Same here, wanting Derby to nick 2nd spot.
