ithuriel Posted 9 January 2012 Share Posted 9 January 2012 Actually no, it depends who you aim it against. Some poeple will shrug their shoulders and accept it, whilst others will not. In this instance the peeps it was aimed against we're not prepared to let it drop and even had the evidence supplied for them I've been lucky to not see much racism aimed at anyone within earshot of me in a football ground whilst being there as a supporter. Stewarding the away section at Filbert Way i know a ringleader who was promoting racist chanting was singled out and caught on the way out after the game ended during a match the season before last. He tried to change his appearance by changing jackets and putting on a cap but he was nicked Also whilst being there as a supporter i did notice three home fans being right idiots during one match and they made sexist comments to a female steward, they we're big men until a supervisor threatened to have them dragged from the ground. I just looked on them with disdain, the girl they gave abuse to was a good looking pleasant girl who did not need to hear what they had to say. Finnegan Posted 9 January 2012 Share Posted 9 January 2012 Make my point again. Plenty of criticism lined up to us Forest fans, but there was abuse to Beckford wasn't there? Sending letters of complaint noting their seat numbers and description I hope, to Leicestershire police. If you're that bothered about kicking racism out of society, you'd do it. But you probably won't, as seeing comments such as "they're only doing it because they're jealous", and "they'll be doing it in ground such as Bury and Yeovil next season", aren't very mature, and wouldn't really look good in a letter. I'm as against racism as you guys, but like I said in my first comment, are you doing it because we're Forest, and you didn't win? If you did win, would there be much of a word said about it? This may come across as arrogant, but that's just the impression I get from some of your comments. You're right, you are being arrogant. The fact that people have woken up a little and made a complaint this time has absolutely nothing to do with Forest and everything to do with the fact that, since last time this happened, we've just been through several racism scandals that have been given heavy media coverage and increasingly more and more people are coming to realise they CAN do something about it and it WILL be responded to. Sorry to shatter your little bubble.

Captain... Posted 9 January 2012 Share Posted 9 January 2012 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MiZM96njHIE Not to add although this is a poor quality video from nottingham you can clearly hear "P##i basturd" so they can try and play it down all they like but it's not the first incident i've heard from forest fans and it's not going to be the last That's pretty conclusive that there are some utter pricks among the Forest support, it's nothing new and we have our own fair share, But, I'm not buying that "you used to be English" chant is racist though, we have been an ethnically diverse city for my entire life so this is not a new thing, whereas our Thai owners, who now own the club, so the club is now owned by someone that is not English is a relatively new thing. If that was sung by Middlesborough fans and there were no other racist comments I don't think anyone would bat an eyelid, but I do think the fact that it is Forest, and the fact that there were other incidents of racism means people are reading too much into it. If the chanting and the abuse was as bad as people are saying, would we be able to ban away fans from the replay? Would that be cutting off our nose to spite our face in terms of lost revenue? Babylon Posted 9 January 2012 Share Posted 9 January 2012 Forest fans think we spat on them and threw lit cigarettes at the kids and parents if this is true what does that say about us? It says every club has morons, something we are already aware of. I loved walking to the ground and walking past the Leicester convoy getting abused by my own fans who thought I was Forest. And nearly getting trampled by a police horse who was trying to stop our own fans from getting at us.

There's light humoured banter at football matches.. Which can be funny and add to the atmos.. Bayfox Posted 9 January 2012 Share Posted 9 January 2012 I had that a couple of years ago at the match where Clive Clarke had his heart attack. I found myself willing a coach carrying supporters of my own team to crash in flames I didn't attend the game on saturday so can't comment on the allegations of racism, however I found myself walking back to Leicester Train station with the Escort of Posh fans the other week, as knew one fan of p'boro who was travelling back to syston with us, the copper clocked us walking at the back and asked if we were Leicester or Posh, to which we replied both, she suggested we dropped of the back and went our own way, however, frankly being surrounded by away fans seemed preferable based on the Leicester Fans standing the other side of the road, screaming abuse at this small escort of P'boro fans. A high number of our fans looked like generally normal mild mannered people, however it seems that on Matchday the normal rules of society go out the window, ever club has it's element of wankers, not saying racism is right but, what do you expect will come of this, most grounds are half empty already, why don't we just kill the matchday event altogether by banning 15% of the remaining crowds, based on they may by childish enough to follow someone elses lead. Saw a cracker in Stuttgart a few years back, group of England fans all charged into a group of Germans, fists flying, kicking each other on the floor. After about 90 seconds it stopped as they all realised they had attacked another group of English.
Jackirius Posted 9 January 2012 Share Posted 9 January 2012 Forest fans think we spat on them and threw lit cigarettes at the kids and parents if this is true what does that say about us? Unfortunately this did happen on the way back to the train station going over the bridge. I gave one of the little dicks a slap over the head which I saw spitting and told him to stop being a ****. But it quickly evolved into a lot of people throwing and spitting at them. Disgusting, most of them were fairly young as well.

The fact is there is a small minority in every group who are complete dicks. Lack of education, morals, trying to be funny in front of their mates, giving it the biggun, and booze affects judgement. Finnegan Posted 9 January 2012 Share Posted 9 January 2012 Let's be clear here, it wasn't a tiny minority of Forest fans letting the rest down on Saturday, it wasn't a small few making stupid comments, it was almost their entire singing section singing racist chants. Loud and clear from my seat. Make all the excuses you want - it was very disappointing.

Vestan Pance Posted 9 January 2012 Share Posted 9 January 2012 I would agree that something needs to be done about this sort of chanting and abuse, but whilst people who should know better are using "Gay, disabled and Spastic" as terms of abuse on messageboards then we really have no hope. 1964FOX Posted 9 January 2012 Share Posted 9 January 2012 Clearly there are faults on both sides as the spiting incident reeals, yes as others have said a lot follow and create the Danny Dyer effect. Itstime for us to stand upend be counted and report the ones who lead these chants and unacceptable behaviour. Without these idiots present the 'followers' will be silent, they might then even start following people who sing WYS and other more appropriate things ad generate some decent atmosphere. Nota lot we can do about Forest and other than report t to the cops, who are then duty bound to investigate it but we can repot our own idiot element to or club. I for one am concerned their numbers seem to be swelling.
1964FOX Posted 9 January 2012 Share Posted 9 January 2012 Can you enter forms regarding incidents outside of the stadium? Literally just outside the exits? Yes if its on a football club property you can complain to the club, in any case you can complain to the police as it's all classed as a public place.
