Bluetintedspecs Posted 13 December 2012 Posted 13 December 2012 I would have to disagree, most improved player is Drinkwater by far. He was average when we brought him in last season, nothing special at all; however he has been one of our best players so far and is the difference between wins and losses. Beckford, Danns, Gallagher, Wellens and Futacs will all be off I think. Agree on most of the potential outs, on the improvements I am talking on this season DD has been outstanding for most of this season whereas De Laet started shakily and has been massively improving IMO.....opinions eh
Walshy5 Posted 13 December 2012 Posted 13 December 2012 Dont know if this has been posted already but judging by this i think we can put this one to bed http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20709041. For the record i think we'll miss a trick if we dont go in for him. Target man who can score goals. Just what we need imo.
Munshi Posted 13 December 2012 Posted 13 December 2012 Woods is OK. Can't see him starting for us though. Difficult to get excited about this signing if it happens. Wood would be brilliant imo, exactly what we needed when we couldnt exactly break down barnsley I dont know about this Woods fella though :xmastongue:

So he's hardly going to come out and say "Yeah, we're desperate to sign this guy". NP will be hush hush on all targets 'til they sign.
dannythefox Posted 13 December 2012 Posted 13 December 2012 Thus proving he isn't that good? Nigel would play him if he was good enough, it's no accident that Futacs has found his time on the pitch somewhat limited - We have strikers who are superior to him. if he scored every time he came on the pitch Pearson still would start with him so thats crap!
Carl the Llama Posted 13 December 2012 Posted 13 December 2012 Knock(aert) knock(aert) Who's there? Chris Wood Chris Wood who? Chris Wood who has also been on loan at Barnsley, Brighton, Birmingham and Bristol City, has scored eight goals in 16 games for the Lions this season and has been capped 29 times by New Zealand.
Corky Posted 13 December 2012 Posted 13 December 2012 Pearson isn't going to comment on players at other clubs.
Harry - LCFC Posted 13 December 2012 Posted 13 December 2012 if he scored every time he came on the pitch Pearson still would start with him so thats crap! I'm sorry I don't understand, if he scored every time play he played then would Nigel start him? Well yes, I would've thought so. Did you mean Pearson wouldn't start him if he scored all the time? If Futacs had bagged every time he made an appearance I rather think Pearson would start him, no doubt about that. I don't know why you think Nigel would decide not to play a striker who scored every game, that seems odd to me (if that's what you meant).
Buggsteam Posted 13 December 2012 Posted 13 December 2012 Woods was highly rated at Birmingham and has a cracking right foot on him. Can't see it happening tho. Yes WBA said he could go but Forrest and Millwall are both intrested in him and he's enjoying his time at Millwall do think they will beat us to him.
Adster Posted 13 December 2012 Posted 13 December 2012 I think if Pearson really wants him, we'll get him in.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 13 December 2012 Posted 13 December 2012 Always cautious whenever we're looking to sign some big unit. We're playing good football this year and any motivation to revert to something stone-age is a serious step backwards. If he's happy to come and sit on the bench and be "Plan B" then fine. If he's expecting to start games on a regular basis? Eh, I'd rather Waghorn. He isn't just some big unit one trick pony, Steve Howard type. He is tall but really mobile and just takes him a few metres to get going.

Similar case to Drinkwater maybe - Good, young player on loan at one of the smaller clubs in the Championship, doing well and enjoying his time there but got bought by a massive club with bigger ambitions
Callabinho Posted 13 December 2012 Posted 13 December 2012 Nigel denies everything when asked a question, he must work for the government as well!
Guest Posted 14 December 2012 Posted 14 December 2012 If Jon Percy says we have bid then we have. Okay John.
Mack Posted 14 December 2012 Posted 14 December 2012 John Percy is right 90% of the time on the Foxes. Nigel is not saying no, he's just saying he's not aware. I'd suggest this is a distinct possibility.

Lobsterboyuk Posted 14 December 2012 Posted 14 December 2012 The mercury piece today is very carefully worded, Pearson denies making a bid of 1 million, that is all that is denied http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/Leicester-City-boss-Nigel-Pearson-rejects-claims/story-17578691-detail/story.html
RizLCFC Posted 14 December 2012 Posted 14 December 2012 Bid rejected http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2248024/Leicester-bid-Chris-Wood-rejected-West-Brom.html
muzzy1981 Posted 14 December 2012 Posted 14 December 2012 Surely we can stretch to £2m having spent £5.5 on mills. Does huddersfields interest keen we will end up getting Beckford back. Bloody hope not
Lambert09 Posted 14 December 2012 Posted 14 December 2012 Maybe this is Huddersfield's ploy to force us to lower demands for Beckford? Hmm
tylesta Posted 14 December 2012 Posted 14 December 2012 If huddersfield wnt beckford so badly let him go for £1m cut our loses, then all we have to do is put another £1m to most probally buy chris wood, who's wages surely would be far less than beckfords.
kingfox Posted 14 December 2012 Author Posted 14 December 2012 Bid £2 million, get him in along with Akinfenwa then were sorted.
dmayne7 Posted 14 December 2012 Posted 14 December 2012 Bid £2 million, get him in along with Akinfenwa then were sorted. Bayo! We'd lose money just on having to make him shirts that fit!
Babylon Posted 14 December 2012 Posted 14 December 2012 Surely we can stretch to £2m having spent £5.5 on mills. No you are right we should overpay for someone again, go into even more debt and be even further away from complying with FFP.
