Will we break our transfer record in the summer?

Nah. Not him. Younger. Think he went Cardiff and flopped. But Nige was interested I think....

Cornelius..

Yes probably.

It seems inevitable that most promoted teams will have a "marquee" signing or sign a stand out name and they usually cost. Chances if us being able to do that on a free are very slim. I think we will go for Rhodes or McCormack. Can't see NP going and spending massive fees but going up would be the time to treat ourselves to a big name signing that can come into the side and really strengthen us.

The question is really, what areas would we need to improve, in order to maintain Premier League status.

The next question is will we sign unknown players like Knocky, Mahrez etc or go down the established / proven route.

I think we'll go for McCormack or even Rhodes, and they will cost more than £5.5m.

Rhodes would but McCormack, not so sure about that. He'll be 28 in the summer, never having played in the prem and he's very inconsistent from season to season. If we're going big then it'll be on somebody who is a proven goalscorer.

I just don't want us to do a Cardiff in terms of transfers

I don't want us to do a Cardiff in terms of everything.

I don't think so. Reckon Pearson will go for a few £2-4 million players instead of just splashing out on one big name. I think we'll pull the rabbit out the the hat again (like what Swansea did when they bough Michu for £2m).

I think we will sign Cresswell from Ipswich.

Add to that a centre back, midfielder and striker. With maybe one more to beef up the squad.

I hope we don't go for McCormack I don't think he'll offer us anything different in the prem and personally think he will struggle.

I think we will sign from abroad rather than home though. We have quite a varied scouting network and players abroad are a lot cheaper than back home.

One marquee signing definitely but not neccesarily a massive transfer fee.

I'm in two minds I think we have to, but NP is sensible. Seems a long time ago, since we paid 5.5 million for Ade Akinbiye

You can be sensible and still spend a lot of money.

I think some people have this idea that Pearson would go out of his way to throttle back the transfer fees, a bit like Wenger does to build his ego. I honestly believe if a player came available for 15 million that Pearson thought was worth that, he'd sign him in a heart beat.

The big problem is finding those quality players wanting to come.

Football Manger players will know the heartache when you think you have set the "only players who are interested" filter on and your hopes are raised when you see Tevez at the top of the list. You soon realised your mistake, apply the filter and all of a sudden you have Del Piero and Rob Earnshaw topping the list...

The board pressure you into a marquee signing so your forced to try and fool them with Del Piero who then snaps his ligaments in the first game, upsets the dressing room and loses you your job. Del Piero then takes your job.

Del Piero's first signing is Earnshaw who goes on the score 20+ goals and gets Leicester into Europe.

I hope so, when you look at the players he can spend 1 million on imagine the type of player he can bring in for 10 million, then again could he struggle like O' Neill did at Sunderland to spend the cash on the bigger players? Either way I would expect he will have an open chequebook so it will be tough for him to have any excuses if we don't build on taking the club to the next level.

The board took us over to get us promoted, and will be determined for us to stay there. I can visualise them as being prepared to spend big money to keep us up, but we obviously need the right personnel.

Let's get the job of gaining promotion finished, before we concern ourselves too much about what will happen next season.

Come on City.

I think we will sign two key players with experience so I can see us breaking the transfer record quite easily. Pearson won't go crazy though I think we will bring in 5 or 6 players at the most with the others coming in for low fees, can see us dabbling in the loan market as well.

5 or 6 players is enough to distrust the team

Whatever makes you think Pearson would spend £15 million on one player?

He doesn't strike me as the type of manager that would spend that much on one player.

I doubt he would either but he occasionally just pulls something out if the bag - if he felt he needed one quality player and a couple of decent frees then that's what he'd do but it is unlikely

I'd 100% have Ross McCormack on the shopping list. Think he'd slot nicely into the team and ready to make the step up. For me he's a more dynamic version of Nuge. Got a good attitude also which is no doubt a characteristic that Sir Nige will want
