TJB-fox Posted 10 May 2014 Posted 10 May 2014 Thailand is more of a celebratory trip, than a pre season tour so as he's been involved this year hes gone to thailand
deep blue Posted 11 May 2014 Posted 11 May 2014 Isn't he out of contract with arsenal in the summer? An arseblogger said last August that his contract "expires next summer (end of this July, I believe), and there has been no suggestion that an extension is forthcoming". I think he was captain of Arsenal reserves as long as 4 years ago, so maybe Arsene is thinking he's not progressing quickly enough and won't be averse to moving him out.
blueblood88 Posted 11 May 2014 Posted 11 May 2014 I think he will be developed into a defensive midfielder, looks to lightweight to be a good centre half. I'd sign him, think he will be a good PL player in a year or two.
sdb Posted 11 May 2014 Posted 11 May 2014 Not good enough and we shouldn't be looking for back ups. We need Premier League players to improve the side and the bloke couldn't get in most match day squads in the league below. Wise up, people.
CloudFox Posted 12 May 2014 Posted 12 May 2014 I think the fact he is in Thailand with the rest of the squad indicates we have a strong chance of keeping him. I know it's a celebratory sort of trip for the whole squad, but if Arsenal wanted to keep him surely he would have gone back to the Gunners to be re-assessed or what have you?
WhenYourSmilingLCFC Posted 12 May 2014 Posted 12 May 2014 on a free, hes well worth keeping. can be cover at left back aswell as centre back. hoping we'll sign one with a bit more experience too but who knows.
teblin Posted 21 May 2014 Posted 21 May 2014 Could happen Nigel did say he wanted to keep the squad together.
lgfualol Posted 21 May 2014 Posted 21 May 2014 Poor Miquel I hope we do sign him, he wouldnt be on much and is a good prospect. I always thought he seemed very good for his age and seems to have a good attitude, .
jmono84 Posted 21 May 2014 Posted 21 May 2014 I think he'd be great for this club, if Moore stays with us for a long time to come then they could be a great partner ship in years to come I like iggy but wasn't too fussed if we signed him but for some reason when I saw this post I got really excited!! That's potentially a good combination of potential if they manage to reach their full potential it could potentially be a formidable partnership for us... Potentially
Lambert09 Posted 21 May 2014 Posted 21 May 2014 If we can get him in on relatively low wages and loan him out to the championships for a season then I can see it being worth a punt. The guy oozes class on the ball. He will eventually be one hec of a player. And I know this is not allowed to be said, but if we get relegated, he would be useful for rebuilding in the champ as let's face it was and wes aren't going to last forever
TheUltimateWinner Posted 21 May 2014 Posted 21 May 2014 Miquel and Moore in seasons to come... Phwoar
MPH Posted 21 May 2014 Posted 21 May 2014 To be a reserve at Arsenal to then come be a reserve at Leicester. From HIS point of view, what's in it for him? We are clearly looking for an experienced CB so he'd be 5th choice. If he stays in England he'll probably go champ. Or return to his motherland.
Rocky Dennis Posted 21 May 2014 Posted 21 May 2014 Clearly loves it here, rated by NP and the staff and already part of the club. His presence in Thailand perhaps suggests he has a future here? Let's not say he's shit, or a reserve player etc, he's clearly a very young skilful player with plenty to learn, as others have said he will be a damn fine player in the future

I've not seen Miquel in action much, but he has the right background, and is the right age. At the right wages level, he'd be a good free signing.

At the right wages level, he'd be a good free signing. Good Point, but Lloyd is still contracted here and could (in theory at least) be here next season. Presumably Miquel's loan expired after the last game? Surprised he didn't return to Arsenal at this point? I hear he's very popular with the players also
LAprice_ Posted 21 May 2014 Posted 21 May 2014 He always speaks as if he's here to say... In his first interview several months ago he said something like "We want to play in the Premier League". No need to read into that too much, but it does seem like he's very much 'part of the team'. You wouldn't actually realise he's a loanee.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 21 May 2014 Posted 21 May 2014 If he's willing to be an irregular starter, then on a free he's more than worth it.
themotivator Posted 21 May 2014 Posted 21 May 2014 I reckon that if Was can pass on the fine art of elbowing before he retires then I think we might just have a player on our hands.
mozartfox Posted 21 May 2014 Posted 21 May 2014 A much better option than Upson. Definitely sign him.
Bettsj2 Posted 21 May 2014 Posted 21 May 2014 Would love it if we signed him. Especially now Taft has been released he fits into that tall, handsome bracket thats now empty.
Bryn Posted 21 May 2014 Posted 21 May 2014 If he's been released I'd be surprised if we don't offer him a contract. We won't be the only club to do so though.
sdb Posted 21 May 2014 Posted 21 May 2014 sorry but what's the point in signing someone clearly not good enough? stop the sentiment, he rarely made our 18 for heaven's sake.
MC Prussian Posted 21 May 2014 Posted 21 May 2014 sorry but what's the point in signing someone clearly not good enough? stop the sentiment, he rarely made our 18 for heaven's sake. How do you know he's not good enough or not capable of making the step up to the Premier League? I can't cite Crystal Palace's rise from the dead with alleged weak, unproven or unspectacular players under a dedicated manager often enough.
Steven Posted 21 May 2014 Posted 21 May 2014 sorry but what's the point in signing someone clearly not good enough? stop the sentiment, he rarely made our 18 for heaven's sake. Would he make it into a 25 man squad?
