Fox42 Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 At first I instantly rejected the idea of him coming here with such a price tag, but it's growing on me now a lot. It'll add some spice to our strikeforce yet he's not the sort that will steal the limelight (which is far from what we need) so I reckon Ulloa offers a great balance of individual talent and team effort. Get him in for £6m I say.
Tom's Pasta Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 This is the first time I've thought this is going to happen. I'm good friends with a brighton fan and he's gutted that we might snatch him which is always a good sign. The price tag isn't surprising and clearly nige really sees something in him so let's hope his bid triggers some movement
whitlock Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 @John__Percy: #lcfc set to make final £7.5m bid for Leonardo Ulloa & offer Jamie Vardy new contract via @Telegraph http://t.co/MiddEdJInv Scrolled through my twitter quite quickly and I read it as, we're bidding £7.5m and offer Jamie Vardy as part of the deal!
Mark_w Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 Jesus Christ must be worth a couple of Billion ? This is what's ruining the English game, why give young English players a chance when you can just spunk billions of pounds on some maverick from Israel. #AMF
kingfox Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 Kingfox That guy doesn't play for Leicester, so that makes no fookin sense.
Fox92 Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 Are you basing that on the away game then? Because frankly Stephen Hawking would have bagged a couple of goals against our shambolic defending in the home game. No.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 This is what's ruining the English game, why give young English players a chance when you can just spunk billions of pounds on some maverick from Israel. #AMF your about right

ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 To be fair to the lad, he made a great come back after a bad knock to become a legend.. They even put a statue of him outside the Maracana!
KFS Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 Leo, wherever you may be, the Argie man better than Messi
Fox Ulike Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 This is what's ruining the English game, why give young English players a chance when you can just spunk billions of pounds on some maverick from Israel. #AMF Well I've yet to see anyone better at getting on the end of crosses.
kingfox Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 Leo, wherever you may be, the Argie man better than Messi That is far too much Steven.
KFS Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 That is far too much Steven. It's in your head, don't lie
MC Prussian Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 We might be speculating on the price of Argentine players to skyrocket starting next Monday. I'm still not convinced that Ulloa's the answer - not at that age and not at that price and not with such rather poor scoring credentials (in a European top flight). But then again, we could argue this topic to death (which we've already done). If we sign him at that high a sum, he's better be worth it. I don't want Leicester to be the laughing stock (again) with a so-called "high-profile" transfer that never paid off.
Alf Bentley Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 I'm pretty sure Jesus would cost more than £7.5m. This is what's ruining the English game, why give young English players a chance when you can just spunk billions of pounds on some maverick from Israel. #AMF It's true that he was literally crucified during his time in Israel, but I'm confident that he can resurrect his career with us. He's highly rated as a world-class left-footer in Rome, and has undoubted leadership qualities that have won him a lot of disciples. I even heard that he has several billion followers - on Twitter, I assume. The club will be able to provide free fish burgers and wine from all catering outlets, too, as a loss leader. I can't see him being very happy about all the merchandising in the temple of football, though. My main concern is a rival bid from Southampton, with all the money they've got for Lallana and Shaw. Yep, I reckon the Saints will go marching in. Come on, Brighton! Give us Ulloa before cabin fever proves fatal around here!
Perseus Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 Lots of posts. Brighton will not stand in the way of a move. Previous experience says Albion will line up a replacement first and this cost may inflate the price. For my mind I cannot see where a replacement would come from? There a handful of continental strikers bandied around at the £7 million mark who look just as average. I think he will suit Leicester at Plan B, and might be a regular starter. Not blessed with excessive pace or ball control, he is a specialist goalscorer. With zonal marking more prominent in the Premier, I think he will have just as much joy at the higher level. I think he might have made a better fist of the chances than Higuain in the WC, His best asset (and irreplaceable) is his ability is to time his jump and get his head around crosses that ordinary centre forwards would not even try for. Shown glimpses of this and his conversion rate to chances is higher than usual, still around the 50% mark. Albion paid round about £2 million for him including agent's fees. This is not a wild guess, although Brighton do not give out transfer fees, we can deduce this from the Spanish end. He did not look out of place against a below par Arsenal. But they did not bash him about like Championship sides. If he stays at Brighton, I would expect 22 goals in the coming season. This is his potential in the Premier. He might not attain this if Leicester struggle a bit. The risk is that he might not fit in and just bag 12 goals. We would not want Chris Wood in part exchange. We bought Ulloa for twice as much instead of him. Despite his inability to control the ball, I think I like Schlupp better than Wood. Leicester need a striker and in lieu of thinking of any player better, he might be good buy at £6 million plus add-ons. Might fail to deliver and then worth just £3 million. A calculated risk. If Brighton went up I would not sneeze if we paid £10 million for a striker, but Cardiff did this and flopped. I think Ulloa is a better bet than one or two of the high scoring relatively unknown continental strikers that have been seen in the papers. South American representative on Radio 5 said Ulloa had no chance of making the WC as he was thought of as not good enough for first tier major league football. That is probably why he did not go to a a la Liga side instead of Brighton.

Dan Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 Whos that man from argentina, whos that man we all adore, leonardo is his name and he scores a goal a game and we dont need *insert name* anymore Beckford fits far too well. I'm liking that though
Mark_w Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 I think I like Schlupp better than Wood. Well if you want to know who would be a better striker for you in the Championship, it's Chris Wood by a mile.
LCFC FOX Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 Beckford fits far too well. I'm liking that though should be Fryatt as he plays for Forest now. Love the song let's hope he signs
Beliall Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 Mccormack is a one season wonder. Ulloa was out for 3 months last season with a broken foot. Ulloa has proven that he can compete in any league and any level he plays at. Are you Ulloa's agent?
Fez of Mahrez Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 That guy doesn't play for Leicester, so that makes no fookin sense. Easy, tiger.

This Jesus guy also qualifies to play for England, through one of his parents. Apparently he is the son of God,and as we all know, God was an English man.
