Leicester City v Manchester United post match thread 5 - 3

Dunno if it's been mentioned but following his silky run against Stoke, Moore's kept up the forward-playing CB role.  At one point when it was 3-3 he took the ball off Falcao who slipped and carries it all the way to the corner flag.  Little beaut.

Seen that in the metro. Fancy a canvas of it for my new gaff.

Exactly what I'm gonna do with it!

Think I may do the same!

Great moment at 76:00: De Gea lines up a goal kick as the crowd slowly gather voice behind him for a loud "your shit ahhh" followed by the kick going straight out for a throw met with sarcastic cheering. lol

Vardy adding the 4th is only the 2nd best moment of our season so far for me. The moment we found out we weren't signing McGoldrick has to be number 1. Absolute scenes.

That commentary is the best I've heard yet.

Apart from Keown being a complete fvcking spud and trying to claim it was a foul on Blackett for the 5th.

Jon Champion is an absolute boss, he should commentate on everything. His commentary of di Maria's goal was almost as good as some of his descriptions of the goals I'd score with Von Mistelroum on Pro Evo 3.

Never let it be said that Leicester City FC don't get a fair crack of the whip when it comes to post-match analysis. FFS.

Richard's pre-match thoughts:

"Great to see Utd re-energised by Van Gaal last weekend. Our league needs a strong Utd and they've very nearly signed the eight players I said they needed this time last season. Sorry my views on this subject upset so many of you - but I was right eh? My advice now is to the 'Class of 92' to back off. Between them they caused nothing but problems at Utd last season - particularly one or two not even involved at the club. The game has changed. If Utd hadn't done what they have these last fee weeks they'd have been left behind. They'll definitely make top 4 now."

Try and get above Leicester first, Richard. That's the immediate task.

If Pearson say's McGoldrick is good enough then McGoldrick is good enough.  Just like if Wasilewski say's it Christmas, i'm singing carols.

Don't mind a counter view but is that the best your cutting edge satire could manage ? bigger YYYYYYYYaawn.

OK sorry. We come from behind to beat United 5-3 and you're concerned about pissing Alan Young? Such a non point

Van Gaal calls for an end to numbers in football

22-09-14

LOUIS van Gaal has claimed that football must be freed from the shackles of maths.

"It's not about balls going between posts"

“It’s not about balls going between posts”

The United manager is unwilling to acknowledge the goals scored over the weekend in numerical terms.

He said: “Can a number describe the majesty of a volley? Or the sweet smell of newly mown grass? Or how much leveraged debt the club is currently in?

“The game is a beautiful, flowing work of physical poetry that shouldn’t be sullied with the base functionality of, for instance, how many million we paid to borrow an injury-prone mercenary.”

For Saturday’s game against West Ham he has proposed an interim measure of deciding the game based on which team George Best was most likely to play for if he was still alive.

The Dutchman has dismissed other number alternatives such as Arsene Wenger’s suggestion of alphabetical placings or Crystal Palace’s proposed ranking system based on how much a team sounds like a Disneyland ride.

Van Gaal’s experiment is thought to be influenced by the 1968-69 Eredivisie when a Dutch FA, led by a contingent of jazz musicians and free-form poets, awarded the title to Feyenoord for having really beautiful moustaches.
